Shane Ryan out for the weekend? Any word on a back up keeper being drafted in. Looks likely to be Brendan Kealy again ! That's disappointing to hear. With the risk of COVID that could take a player out, it would make sense to have at least three keepers there or thereabouts. Not a knock on Kealy here but just trying to have back-up plans to back up plans.

I think it’s only fair to clarify that Shane Ryan picked up his injury at Thursday night training last week and after the team selection was supplied to the relevant sources. It is incorrect to assume that this was a deliberate attempt to create confusion or whatever - this time!

Expect big pressure on our kickouts tough on a new goalie

Dublin have put pressure on kickouts because they win a lot of long kickouts

Seánies named in the team anyways so hopefully thats a good sign.. but judging by Keane's recird with fielding dummy teams we'll have to wait until 1.30 on Sunday afternoon before we'll know for sure. But good that he's named the same side,he usually doesn't name the same side for 2 consecutive games. Good to see that the players have been rewarded for their performances last weekend with their jersey retained.

Hi all, sorry if this has been asked and answered on another thread. I am wanting to watch games on RTE/TG4 from America using Nord VPN to access RTE Player (which has a geo-block when trying to access outside of Ireland). I am in a free trial of Nord VPN now. Once I have connected to a server in Ireland using the Nord VPN app on my phone the message in RTE Player says …”Playback error, please try again”, when trying to watch live TV. How is this overcome, or can it be, and is there a particular server that must be connected to? Sorry, I’m not much of a tech person. GaaGo is a good fallback option however it seems to me that paying for a VPN (one that works) would be a better option than a GaaGo pass because then you could access all the other RTE Player content, not just GAA. Many thanks

Rumours of Sean O Shea being done for the year with an ACL injury this rumour is pure Bo**ocks - - no truth in it..

Who has been dropped from the panel to accommodate Stephen and Jack?
I suppose the naming of Sean O’Shea does not necessarily refute those injury rumours.
Brendan Kealy continues as the replacement goalie. Maybe this has something to do with a reluctance to bring in another player because of the Wuhan virus restrictions. It is no slight on Brendan , a fine goalie indeed, to say that this situation appears bizarre from the outside.
It is pleasing that the substitutes are being published this year. Perhaps they would also resume the previous practice of naming the players who are being excluded because of injuries.

Not a knock on Kealy here but just trying to have back-up plans to back up plans. Totally agree. The current situation has a fierce bang of taking the lazy option with Kealy on the bench. As a comparison Galway released a panel of 38 [plus a feeder panel of 11] with a total of 4 keepers listed and Dublin played Monaghan and Cork in two challenge games on the same day the weekend before last so are surely carrying a panel of at least 40 and and have 3 keepers confirmed [Cluxton, Comerford and Shiel] and I'd be surprised if it wasn#t more. What's the plan if Ryan's injury takes longer to heal than the supposed 8 weeks? What happens if Fitzgibbon turns in a performance similar to the one he turned in against Galway? For me the goal-keeping situation is the biggest worry facing Kerry at the moment.

No way would PK name a team with a player who had picked up a season ending injury and given its seriousness I'd imagine the CB would have made a statement. To be honest how any Kerry man can make up this sort of thing is beyond belief. Its disgusting.

Perhaps management think Kealy is the best backup option currently given his experience. He is not that old.

Had a read of the Reservoir Dubs page, The majority think we are a 2 man team and would be fairly disparaging towards the rest of the team.

There is a deep pool of ex Kerry goalkeepers to choose from.

I can understand the need to rotate the match day panel but , in view of the mobility of the Dublin midfield , I would have thought that Adrian Spillane would have been a useful reserve.
I do not know enough about Joe O’Connor but it would be a very demanding for him to debut against Fenton/McCarthy etc. Diarmuid O’Connor is there of course and I do hope we see more aggression and urgency form him in 2021.

Veteran, I saw McCarthy & Fenton against Roscommon. In current form they are not world beaters. The biggest contribution Fenton made was pulling at the his opponents elbows trying to make them fumble the ball. Cynical in the extreme. I must admit I have only seen Joe O'Connor in a few games but from what I've seen and what I've heard I would have no hesitation throwing him in there. Royalkerryfan - 90% of posts on that website consist of 1 line - usually very superficial. I wouldn't take them too seriously.

Vet, would not worry about JoC. An able body and he wont be shy if called upon. Of course he is raw and inexperienced at this level but a 5 or 10 minute run out in this company could be worth its weight in gold for the young lad.....

Really looking forward to the game, regardless of what management teams say this will be a big game for both teams. This isn’t a time for experimenting with line ups too much, this is an opportunity for a good road test for both teams. I sincerely hope that Kerry go at it from the start and play with the same purpose and fury that they did against Galway. There was a refreshing relentlessness to our play that I hadn’t seen in a while. Even as the first half wore on last weekend, I didn’t have that niggling sense of foreboding that I got with many of our previous games. The games where we came out of the traps absolutely flying, build a decent lead and then crumble once the opposition got any kind of a run on us. Granted, Galway made it all to easy at times, however, it is an insult to the quality of the football Kerry played to analyse the performance through the prism of Galway’s approach to the game. An attacking approach with fast movement of the ball was great to see last weekend and hopefully we see something similar tomorrow. Dublin will really test our mettle and give us plenty to think about as we head for championship territory. You’d be very disappointed if they didn’t stretch us to our limits. Given that, it will be interesting to see how we react. Pressure does funny things, as we saw in Páirc Uí Chaoimh last November. When Kerry are taken to that place again tomorrow, their reaction will tell us a lot in terms of what this group can achieve this summer. I have very few doubts that this group have the skills to win Sam, The brazenness and the street smarts? That remains to be seen. Roll on tomorrow, we should find questions and answers aplenty. Thank God for the return of games.
