The draw for the Munster Football Championship of 2021 takes place next Monday (April 19th) on RTE 1's Morning Ireland show. Football championship is a straight knockout again this year. Presume Cork and Tipp are seeded in the first round (2020 finalists) meaning Kerry can draw any one of the 5 Munster counties in the first round.

A lot of wrongs to be righted here! I just hope we get to play cork and a few demons are exercised!

Kerry didn't make a Munster final last season so their campaign will start in the QF against either Clare, Limerick or Waterford. Cork and Tipperary will recieve a bye into the semis, whether they meet each other or are drawn separately will be determined by next Mondays draw.

2021 Munster SFC draw *Quarter-finals: *Clare v Kerry, Waterford v Limerick Semi-finals: Tipperary v Clare/Kerry, Cork v Waterford/Limerick Last time we played Clare was in Ennis if memory serves me, so that'll be in Killarney. It'll be nice to beat Cork in a Munster final in Killarney also (provided we get past Tipp and Clare) to help ease the demons of last November.

If we're to learn anything from last November it's got to be that we don't fall on the same sword again. One step at a time folks please.. Clare..

Being locked out of a championship game in Killarney during the summer months is going to be hard to stomach.
Finding it hard to get enthusiastic about football this year for that very fact.

Looks like a good draw, a game with someone like Clare will focus the mind. Let's see where that brings us.

Happy enough. 3 tough challenges before facing the Ulster Champions. Previously the danger in each of those 3 games was not giving the opposition enough respect. After last year, maybe the danger is giving the opposition too much respect!

Lovely draw Games get progressively harder as the competition progressed Anything other than Kerry getting the Munster cup back would be a surprise.

Looks like Peter Crowley has retired from intercounty football. Best of luck Peter, owes Kerry nothing.

Peter retiring is a strange one and big loss. He worked so hard to get back from his ACL to retire now seems strange. Best of luck Peter 👍

Best of luck Peter 👍 Timing of the announcement definitely strange, but not surprised that he has retired. I imagine (but could be wrong) that Keane told him he wouldn't be getting the same game time as before and he chose to retire. Geaney, SOB and Moran will now be the only players over 30 likely to make the starting line up. Seems as if Kerry will be looking to build as much of a starting line up from the 5 years of minor winners as possible.

Timing is surely because training is back - it would surely have got out he wasn't involved. Given Keane started him in all 3 games he was available for last year I'd say it was far more likely Peter's own decision - he missed almost a full year with his injury. He's given solid service to the green and gold over the years.

Geaney is one of our best players and will start. We missed him against Cork. He’s a fantastic footballer and a great leader as well. Morley is 28. Sherwood is around 30 and should be in with a good chance of starting.

It was strongly rumoured that Crowley was retiring when Lyne and Enright retired earlier in the year. I think his name was even mentioned here so its no great surprise in that regard. It is disappointing, however as the Peter Crowley before his injury would be a great asset to the Kerry defence. He must not have been able to get back to that level. That's now 3 defenders who have retired this year from a not very deep pool. Hopefully others will step up this year.

That block in ’14 vs Dgal had the nation take a deep breath, if we found our Mojo as a unit he’d have progressed again, a 24 carat Kerry defender in every department.
Sharp he was, injury took the edge?

Best Wishes to Peter Crowley on his intercounty retirement. This announcement is disappointing and strange in it's timing. Presumably, he has taken part in all the conditioning work and zoom calls etc. over the winter. It would make some sense if he is being pushed out of the squad by bigger and better defenders, but I don't see that! I've no doubt if Peter was on the field at the start of the second half of the replayed final, there's no way Murchan would have scored that goal.

I am sorry that Peter is gone but I suppose time caught up with him and of course that ACL injury , particularly at his age, probably expedited matters. As far as I know he is a self employed pharmacist and again that role would not lend itself to taking time off.
At his best , he was a mighty man, providing that bit of ruggedness which a lot of of our current defenders lack.
Enjoy your retirement , Peter.
I notice that our hurlers have secured Donncha Walsh as their physiotherapist. They maybe on to a winner there. Best of luck with that, Donncha.

Sad to see Peter Crowley go. He gave great service and commitment to Kerry at all levels and was certainly missed in 2019. I would imagine self-employment in any small business is not an easy role to combine with full time inter-county demands. I hope Laune Rangers have the benefit of his service for a few more years to come.
That lateish point v Mayo in Croke Park remains etched in my mind.
