See this somewhere else. What are some missed Omopportunities for clubs or even with Kerry over the years? Had a result gone different what might have happened?
From a club point of few here are some i think.
Two differrent eras in hurling for Stacks. Lost back to back county finals in 1968/69. Lost both by a point to Crotta and Killarney, had either result gone different Stacks could have pushed on in hurling and who knows what it might have done for the county team. Lost again to Abbeydorney in 1974.
Much the same in the 90's. One or two results could have gone different.
Also in hurling was the Killarney team of that time. Won in 69 and lost in 70. Had they won two in a row it again could have kicked on hurling in Killarney.
Final one in hurling Kenmare in the 90's. Had won Minor and U21 county titles in the mid to late 80's. Got the seinor final in 91 and only lost by four points. Again had they won hurling in the county could have been very different.
In football Crokes in the 2000s. Lost to South Kerry in back to back finals by three points in 05 and one in 06. Had they won either could have won an All-Ireland much sooner.
Same with Ghaeltacht in 2001. Had they got over Nemo in Munster they would have fanced themselves to go the whole way.
Of course at county level there's many examples. 2011 being the most recent of them. 82 of course. 02 v Armagh and 08 with Tyrone two others.
In hurling post 93 win over Waterford. Added with Kenmare and Stacks at club level never really did push on from there.
