A lot of good motions defeated last night.
The decision to keep senior clubs at 8 is baffling. Our junior and intermediate championships were operated by teams playing out of division 1, that cannot be right!! There should be at least 10 senior clubs if not 12
Cromane had a lot of good motions about div 5 and the B teams, most of these were put back to the next meeting. They need to create a div 6 for the B teams.

I think the championship we have at the moment with 8 clubs and 8 divisional sides works very well, I would not be changing it. Also it means we are very strong at junior and intermediate when it comes to the Munster and All Ireland competitions which I can only see as a positive.

But we have an unfair advantage in the intermediate and junior. Our 3 major club champs were won by teams operating out of division 1 Would it not be better to see a low rank div 2 or div 3 team win the junior champ Bring the senior champ up to 12 and have them joined by four divisional teams every year determined by the 8 divisions drawn against each other in a preliminary round and the four winners into county champ proper

You would have weak senior teams who haven’t a hope of winning it and as a result you would have weaker divisions at a time when it looks like divisional teams are putting in an effort again. I think it’s up to Cork to properly regrade their system instead of clubs having an ego of being ‘Senior’ when the reality is only a handful of clubs have a chance of winning the county outright

Are there any other major counties with only 8 senior clubs?

It's not an unfair advantage when it's open to others to do likewise is they so wish. And in fairness, I don't hear other teams moaning about it, just a few media heads sticking their oars in because a couple of games were on the telly. Counties operate their own championships to suit themselves and it's none of anyone else's business.

I think there should be a div 6 for the B Teams, let them all battle eachother. Also B teams should only be allowed enter once they can provide a list of at least 40 players before start league, and a list of genuine players, not fellas who have no intention of playing or living abroad.

All clubs already nominate there first 15 to both the district board and county board, both of the boards can object to the first 15 and query why player A is on it and player B is not. It can actually be difficult to get ringers through.
All Teams with a B team and may consider fielding a C team (Crokes had a C team in Div 5, Stacks had a C team in the Friday night Junior Leagues) must also submit a second 15.

We do have some beauts (I'm being kind) as delegates. After what happened to Stacks how could anyone think the status quo was working. Exactly. Peter Twiss put the frightners on delegates before the vote for having two teams come out of the groups for club champs by saying one round would have to be played mid week and possibly without county players With the county league being finished by end August now, from next on, why not have the semis and finals after Kerry exit champ. A few of us on here must not being seeing the full picture as we all have simple, logical and great ideas, but the powers that be think different!!!!

Weeshie Lynch defeated John Joe O’Carroll 66-36 for Kerry’s nomination as treasurer of Munster council. Kerins O’Rahillys motion to increase senior clubs from 8 to 10 was defeated 34-26 - that’s 42 LESS delegates voting on separate motions! How is this possible? Did 42 delegates abstain or were they present only for one of the motions? This just doesn’t make any sense - have we another Votegate on our hands?!

I think delegates only could vote on the motions whereas club chair and sec and delegates could vote on contests. I maybe wrong

Get rid of the Division One final in the hurling county league as well, its a competition that starts in March and finishes in November and it only has 8 teams in it, this years final was a non event, played in an empty Austin Stack Park, nets behind the goals were broke and the ref didnt bring any linesmen so the two clubs had to supply them, so lets just get rid of the final and save everyone the hassle
Maybe split the division in two have two groups of 4 with the rule that any teams that play each other in the North Kerry League competition cannot play each other in the County League, we need to reduce the amount of times the clubs are playing each other, look at the Carlow clubs and a Mayo club won the Connacht Intermediate hurling club championship beating the Galway champions, our clubs need to progress

Change is needed for both the North and South Kerry clubs as they both play eachother far too much.

Out of the 24 1st round games in 2019 in intermediate, premier junior and junior 23 losers did not qualify from group. Dromid drew and subsequently went through. So that tells you that the competitions should be straight knockout or two qualifying. Why play three group games. Its realistically a competition to avoid relegation rather than achieve something. All clubs start the year looking to do something in championship but currently all is happening is games to avoid relegation. Straight knock out would free up a couple of weekends too. Agreed. If a club loses their first game they're mosre of less done for the year and it's a case of trying to avoid relegation
