And how are you so sure that he is not going to port. Is he staying on with the Casey's?

And how are you so sure that he is not going to port. Is he staying on with the Casey's? Was Eanna kidnapped ? There's a fair few clubs there on the list that don't seem to have managers, or perhaps it's just that they aren't big names. What would be interesting to see is how many are from outside the club they are involved with. I am guessing they will be costing the club €150 to €300 a week. €7000 low water. Nuts. That to me is utter madness for the majority of clubs who would will be putting themselves under enormous financial pressure. The mercenary will move on and you are left with the same story the year after. The ould "won't listen to their own" nonsense is still alive and well. Sure everyone knows the lads who won't put it in for a good home coach won't be putting it in long term for an outside coach either.

Its tough on clubs who have no choice but to pay. Added to that the expense of the running of the club such as registration fees, running the club grounds, keeping pitches maintained etc. People can be slow enough to contribute or sponsor GAA clubs because there is this notion that the GAA are loaded. The top table are but not the small clubs who have to work incredibly hard to pay the bills and try break even every year

Every club tries to bring through young players to the senior team. Why not invest in their coaches and bring them through too. There are huge costs in running clubs. Some of the bigger clubs seem.to have strong financials but I'd imagine a lot of small rural clubs are getting by on fumes. Back to my original point. How many coaches/managers are home grown and how many are imports. Do we have guys that have been around a few clubs ?

I think the GAA should make club managers, selectors and coaches subject to similar rules as players as regards registration and transfers between clubs. Would be a very benefical move for clubs and the association in the longer-run.
