I heard the same regarding the county board - word was that Sugrue went with a detailed plan for Laois for the next 2/3 years but county board were not up for it - Sugrue then walked. It hard for Laois to develop both codes to a high level. The hurling seems to be the priority since Eddie Brennan took over The lad I was talking to made no mention whatsoever of hurling or blaming it. His complaint was pretty much based on idea that the county board were old-school/stuck-in-the-past - Sugure wanted to change things/try new approaches to some stuff (don't think there was anything too radicial) and the county board's attitude was things are grand the way they are/ changing things would be a bother/hassle. He wasn't blaming Sugure for walking away given the county board's attitude . From the way he was talking I'd be hoping Quirke met up with Sugure before signing up so he got the full lay of the land.

In the long term it is great for the county to have Kerrymen managing other county teams, they will gain valuable experience and keep up to date with developments. If they succeed and thrive to a man they’ll answer our call when summoned. The chance to be part of the Kerry Senior management team will be too strong to say no, they’ll travel from wherever their based for the chance.

What coaching/managerial experience have the two lads if Fionn Fitz is concerned with S/C. ?

What coaching/managerial experience have the two lads if Fionn Fitz is concerned with S/C. ? Brendan Guiney has been involved with some sides in West Limerick, Glin being the most recent as far as I know - O’Leary does not have any experience to my knowledge.

I would have grabbed this management team 6 months ago. How many U20 management teams have selectors where they all have Senior AIl Ireland final experience.

Not sure what people expect here. They have got a highly rated senior interco manager to lead the team. That is pretty impressive.

What coaching/managerial experience have the two lads if Fionn Fitz is concerned with S/C. ? I presume they have gone through their courses and been involved at club level - this is an ideal scenario whereby we have 2 young coaches who have relatively recent experience of playing at intercounty level learning from a successful senior level coach. I think this is a really exciting and sensible management team.

The biggest issue v Cork in 2019 and Kildare in 2018 was that we lost possession from a rake of our own kickouts.
Hopefully that wont happen next year.
