Disapointing result for Causeway today. Begs the questions of why the county championship is played off so early. Whats the rush? Over two months wait without a game is just madness I agree with MickMack. Causeway had time to celebrate a great and overdue championship success and well they should. They then had time to get back into training for the match and by all accounts prepared very well. At the end of the day , they played well but the Bennetts are established senior inter county hurlers some of whom have played in the all Ireland senior final. that bit of quality edged it for Ballysaggert plus home advantage and not the timing of the county championship. The fact of the matter no Kerry club has won the intermediate munster championship title yet and this was the case in the old county championship time line as well. I do think the co board should allow 2 extra weeks for the championship though, let it run on 2 weeks later. I think that is the best that overall fixtures calendar can allow. Celebrating wtc isn't the issue. It's not having any games for over 2 months. Training and callange matchs can only do so much. I don't see the reason to have the championship played so fast. The Intermediate is the same
