Oh, yes. Three members of my family went up to watch the Hogan Cup final between Colaiste na sCeilge (backboned by Declan O'Sullivan and managed by Jack O'Connor) and St. Jarlaths (Michael Meehan). I was engrossed in a book so, even though I always followed colleges football (still do), I decided for once that it was too long a journey for a sunny Sunday; I'd give it a miss. 0-20 apiece, almost all from play. Considered the greatest colleges game ever played. As you can imagine, my very Kerry family didn't rub it in at all... Can't even remember the name of the book. The memory still stings a tiny bit on occasion but I can laugh at my folly - now!
