First time I've hit the opt out button on my season ticket after four years and to make matters worse I'll be in Dublin this weekend. So many loyal followers struggling to find it in them to travel up. It's common for fans to stay away from a game because of the chances of their team getting beat, only the GAA with regularity can throw up a scenario of fans staying away because their team is highly unlikely to get beaten. Difficult to see how many will travel from the Banner as well, Tipp might double their following they had last Saturday, but that would mean around 1000 showing up. If there is 20,000 at it they'll be going well, Galway fans will have to travel in numbers to make that up. And with the races on this week that's not a given.

Is Johnny gone for the rest of the year? Fitz is quoted in the Examiner article as saying the QF is a week too early for Buckley - based on that one would hope his year is not over. Team selection will be interesting given the absentees.

Does anyone know if Barry O'Sullivan is in training. I know he was injured.

The GAA better hope that the entire Dublin backroom staff attend on Sunday, divide themselves into groups and watch Kerry from all 4 sides of the stadium - that should nearly double the crowd.

Yes, Barry is training - no injury issues with him.[/ I wonder are Brendan O'Sullivan and Alan Fitzgerald fit for selection? The injuries are mounting at the crucial period of the year.

Veteran - my information is that Brendan O'Sullivan is out for this Championship. Alan Fitzgerald is against the clock for later on and Mark O'Connor was definitely training with the panel a week ago. It may have changed in the meantime but I can't confirm that.

Cheers mandad. Were you up the tree? Who's Barry O'Sullivan? Is he likely to make an appearance and has he potential? I'm travelling anyway, Kerry deserve the support. These lads are giving huge time and effort and deserve the support

Kerry has comprehensively beaten two teams who have gone on to make the quarter finals. In contrast, all teams Dublin has played bar Westmeath (who haven't played since their defeat) are now out of the Championship along with every other Leinster team. Probably will count for nothing if/when we meet in the semi but something to ponder on for now.

I am abroad on holidays at the moment but will be back before the weekend. I have been checking the GAA website and cannot see tickets on sale. Will the be on the website or will I have to make do with what is available when I get back.

Cathal O'Connor cleared to play by CCCC (or whatever they're called now). Card downgraded to yellow.

I know this sounds awful and you can all call me a moan if you want but I cant see any outcome from this match that will properly satisfy me.
There are 3 scenarios:
1) Kerry win comfortably and it isnt really a contest 2) Kerry scrape a win and play poorly 3) Kerry lose
None of which will make me particularly happy- it's a sad state of affairs but the only real reason that I am going is to watch the minors.

Good column by Declan on the GAA site. I found this particularly interesting: "However, at this stage of the year each team should have a core group of 12 or so players which are more or less guaranteed their starting position. This allows them to concentrate more on the team objective rather than too many players preoccupied with just trying to keep their place on the team. At the moment I could count just 7/8 players who are in that position for Kerry. For me that is a big problem and I feel because of this the leadership and communication on the field is not where it needs to be for a team who want to win an All-Ireland. For this reason Kerry’s team selection will be very interesting for this game. It has been a month since the Munster final so that performance will count for little. This team will be more about what the management feel is their best team to meet the bigger challenges coming down the road." www.gaa.ie/football/news/column-declan-sullivan-football-130781/

What about: 4) Clare rise to the occasion and play to the height of their ability. Kerry are challangrd but respond to win - never mind the margin. All the other options ignore the ability of our opponents and assume the result is entirely dependent on how Kerry play. That is dangerous.

I count less than 7/8 pure automatics. Enright and Crowley are one black away from a suspension.
