Lots of mistakes from both teams, Mayo look shocking at this stage. Tipp blood gushing out through Tommy Tom Carr. I thought he was a Dub, lol!

Whoever wins between kerry and Dublin will fancy their chances in the final. Aidan O'Shea totally anonymous again today.
Their backs look very poor. Tipp opened them up handy enough at times. Inexperience cost Tipp more than anything else. Thought coldrick had a poor game agsin.

Tipp County Board probably need to look at the way football is treated in Tipp in relation to the dual call question. Huge effort by the Tipp footballers this year.
Looks like Mayo are adding another extension to the House of Pain!

Does Tommy Carr get paid for this ? Quote of the day: 'and with a grimace like that, it's usually a hamstring'....
His most accurate statement though was surely ' I don't understand it anymore' ( although I'm not sure he ever did)...

Who believes the 2006 final will repeat itself this year whether its Kerry or Dublin, Mayo will face?

Jim Gavin can barely keep a straight face watching that I'd imagine, a handy All Ireland as ever there for the Dubs this year.. so superior to everything else out there. I'm disappointed with Mayo, thought they were better.
I don't know what was worse though, listening to Tommy Carr attempt to commentate (he clearly doesn't understand the black card) or watch Pat Spillane constantly interrupt everyone in studio to make the same repeated dated points he always spits out. It takes some doing to overshadow Joe in the irritation stakes.

The whole Sunday game panel & commentators need to be reviewed, they are both annoying & outdated. They need more guys that have played the modern version of the game on there, Aaron Kernan for example is excellent but gets very little air time.

"The play is very pedantic" I think the word you were looking for was "pedestrian" Tommy.
Also he said Aidan O Shea had got worse belts at 3am outside a Castlebar Disco. only slightly slanderous.

It's really incredible that, not only did Carr ever get a gig as commentator, but he seems to be appearing at more and more games. Spreading like a virus, so he is.
You'd have to wonder who is responsible for this? Who decided that someone so persistently clueless, so prejudiced and with the most boring voice imaginable was, out of the whole country, the one most qualified to entertain the armchair fan. The mind boggles.
Could they not have sent him to Rio to do the fencing or some such?

Of course this will make no difference but I am going mad. I want to watch on RTÉ but this gob*e means I have to watch Sky.

The black carding of centre back Robbie Kiely of Tipperary (unfairly in my view) was a big blow and had a huge bearing on the game. In general, I thought the referee was very harsh on Tipperary. Lee Keegan did well to avoid the black card today - this 'hard man' continues to ride his luck and smirk at the opposition. One of these days Keegan is going to get his comeuppance and I hope it comes on the receiving end of a real hosing from a Kerryman.

Mayo are exactly where they need to be [underdogs going into the final]. They upped the pace for 10 mins before half time which won the game. There is plenty more in them but did not show their hand today. At times the game lacked intensity, Must agree with Tomas, this could be their year. = Keegan lucky to stay on the pitch

He fouled Quinlivan a few times today and deservedly got a yellow but don't remember him committing a black card offense.

I hate to agree with Tommy Carr but the foul on Quinlivan was far more cynical than anything Kiely did. It could have been a black card if the mood has struck Coldrick as it seemed to with Kiely. A couple of minutes later Keegan had his two hands wrapped around Quinlivan's waist under a dropping ball and swung him to the ground - it was deliberate and cynical but Coldrick ignored it and it was clear as day on camera. PS: Big call ignored there! What was the umpire looking at?

Sorry just watched back - it was actually a foul on Quinlivan in the 42nd minute,

All the evidence points to the winners of SF2 between Dublin and Kerry doing a lap of honour and picking up a handy AI third Sunday of September. Just wondering why I have this nagging feeling that the GODS have other plans....

Don't agree with Carr that Keegan's earlier foul was a black card, though as it didn't meet any of the criteria. Kiely's did, however as he brought O'Connor down. Nobody, but himself knows if it was deliberate or not so but if a Dub does it next Sunday I will be shouting for a black card.

Terrible comment all right. Carr is insufferable, anyone know how his brother Declan played for the Tipp hurlers and Tommy Tom played for the Dublin footballer?
