Brendan o Sillivan didn't even start for the juniors! Conor Cox is probably one of the county most talented young players he was always going to be in there at one stage. Tadgh Morley has been playing well with his club and district in the bigger competitions so that's why he is called. Philip o Connor was dropped from Kerry lady year and thrown into the juniors. As stated above fitz dosnt care one bit about the juniors. Sure teams like Dublin don't even compete in it . Hence why Kerry win it most years. If it was a big thing more county teams would enter it. What in gods name are you on about? Brendan O Sullivan was midfield for the juniors last year. Also Philip O’Connor played in the league this year. Kerry win it most years? 4 times in the last 25 years... If you're going to try to go on a rant at least get your facts right first Hurling man he must be a Politician. He Sounds very confident in the lies that comes out of his own mouth or In This case the ones he writes on his computer screen. He'd remind you of the man in the pub who can tell you everything on a Sunday about the county league game played in the sports field the night before!! And never in his lifedown in the field or even put a pair of boots on.

Stephen Wallace had a right go this morning in the Kerryman at some of the club managers - unnamed - that he said it was disgusting how they carried on with the co. junior set up. Hmmm, multiple small clubs had to line out without their best players last weekend. Losing players for county league games could be the difference between promotion/relegation for these clubs and I think its very unfair that Wallace is doing this.

I agree with you there homerj, these players are those clubs best players & in most cases are the difference between winning & losing a game & maybe promotion & relagation at the end of the year. It's a stupid comment to make when kerry are still in the competition as he'll be dealing with the same managers for another while at least, then again Wallace does like the sound of his own voice & blowing his own trumpet.

At the end of the day these players loyalty will lie with their club's and the players they play regularly with, of course the club manager's are going to want these players, maybe the county board should take charge of this and take the pressure off the players,i see the under 21 championship starts next Wednesday some of these same player's will be involved in this as well. Not sure the dropping of 3 player's morning of the game was great for team moral.

There's a couple of things at play here-I'd imagine that the players were made aware of the requirements before they joined the panel and defo before the weekend of the match.
If they broke the rules while the others kept them then there would have to be a penalty for it as otherwise every player in the panel would lose respect for the management and the whole thing would descend in to a farce.
If they didnt want to adhere to the rules laid down then they dont have to be part of the panel- it really is that simple

Okay, didn't know that, if that's the case not sure what the answer is Stephen Wallace is right to not want them playing with there clubs but seems fairly powerless to prevent it, would imagine that a few players have already dropped out by their own choice to concentrate on the club

Complete madness playing a round of county league Fixtures on a weekend when up to 60 players(not including the minors) who were involved with the senior and junior teams.

Out of the 15 who started the junior final last year 4 have since gone on to play with the seniors in either the league of championship already. Tadgh Morley Philip O'Connor Brendan O'Sullivan Conor Cox That's before you consider there is a fair few more who have been around the training panel as well and/or those who have a reasonable enough shout of being involved down the road due to their young age. Maybe you are one of those who think the juniors is not that important but I'd imagine you would be struggling to find all that many who would agree with you. To be honest i doubt Fitzmaurice is watching the Juniors to unearth players,I'd be fairly confident that Brendan O Sullivan was called up on his County championship performances,Similar to Jaime O Sullivan,Podge Connor etc.. I don't believe Junior players should be banned from playing with their clubs and maybe the future of this competition should be played mid-week. Kerry will play Cork in the Munster Junior Football Final on Wednesday June 29th at 7:30pm in Austin Stack Park Tralee

Is Michael Walsh (Knocknagoshel) brother of James who won this competition last year still involved with the team? Fine footballer when he gets going.

Good win for the juniors over a fancied Cork side. Adrian Spillane was the standout player again for me, drove forward with real purpose throughout

Well done to Stephen Wallace and Kerry team. Great achievement to win Munster title with a brand new team. First time an All-Ireland winning county retained their provincial title under the new system. Now to try to do something no Kerry junior team has done before - win 2 All-Irelands in a row.

Good win last night. solid performances by full back line (what a prospect Jason Foley looks), Andrew Barry (first half), Adrian Spillane, David Foran and my man of the match Brian O' Seanachain. Looks a ready made replacement for Donncha Walsh.
Did Mr Wallace give interviews to the media after the game last night?? He had a nice little rant on social media yesterday morning about being misquoted in the media!! No such thing as bad publicity!!!

Great win for the Juniors. I had my doubts about them after the Limerick match but a big improvement. Great to see all the young lads performing so well. Wallace has done a great job since taking them over.

C103 fm had commentary on the game while Radio Kerry didn't even give score updates. I thought this was odd with the game on in Tralee.

Kerry 0-14 Cork 0-13: Kerry withstood a brave second-half Cork showing to secure a third consecutive Munster JFC crown.
Having had to assemble an entirely new panel for the 2016 campaign off the back of last year’s All-Ireland win, coupled with their less than impressive semi-final show against Limerick earlier this month, expectations in the Kingdom were relatively subdued. They needn’t have been as Stephen Wallace’s young side produced a composed display to kick-start an important five-day period for the Kingdom where all three of their Munster titles are up for defence.
Kerry wore the underdogs tag in this one, yet were led only once over the hour, and that two minutes in when Mark Sugrue put Cork on the board. Even at that, inside Kerry forwards Kieran Hurley and Sean Michéal Ó Conchúir had wasted two decent chances.
The home outfit sharpened the radar thereafter and settled with three white flags on the bounce from Patrick Clifford, Adrian Spillane and Paul O’Donoghue. The outstanding goal chance would present itself in the subsequent action, Cork centre-forward Killian O’Hanlon pulling his effort right and wide. Michael Vaughan, Cork’s most impressive on the night, kicked the first of his six points six minutes in. Cork, though, were coming off second best around the middle where Adrian Spillane asserted his presence.
Three of the next four scores fell to Kerry – Niall O’Shea, Hurley and O’Donoghue (free) moving the winners 0-6 to 0-3 clear. Vaughan, Sugrue and sub Eoghan Buckley kicked a point apiece between there and the break – no other Cork player managed to find the target in the opening period. Down the other end, captain Paul O’Donoghue continued to punish Cork indiscipline with three further frees and a second from Spillane returned Wallace’s charges back down the tunnel 0-10 to 0-6 ahead.
Cork, after their early second-half wobble of falling five adrift, stepped up the intensity a fair few gears with three unanswered points from Vaughan (0-2) and Buckley between the 37th and 43rd minute Vaughan tried his luck from distance in the ensuing play to cut the gap to the minimum, but his effort dropped into the hands of ‘keeper Darragh O’Shea. Ó Conchúir ended a 12-minute barren spell for Kerry entering the final quarter and the champions looked to have seen out the bad weather.
Paul McCarthy’s side, though, weren’t quite done. Killian O’Hanlon and O’Donoghue traded minors before Buckley and Sugrue (free) slotted points to reduce Kerry’s lead to the solitary as the clock entered stoppages.
Cork pressed and pressed, but space was non-existent. In a free-flowing, encounter where sweepers were nowhere to be found, the Rebels now found themselves knocking against a wall of 14 Kerry players. Bart Daly shot from the out the field on 62 minutes. Wide. Victory and the three-in-a-row to Kerry.
Scorers for Kerry:
P O’Donoghue (0-7, 0-5 frees, 0-1 ’45); SM Ó Conchúir, A Spillane (0-2 each); P Clifford, N O’Shea, K Hurley (0-1 each).

I heard Limerick were considering him as an option last Autumn but in the end John Brudair stayed on there.
Winning a third Munster title in a row, with an all-new team and especially with the overall age profile is very decent going in my book.
Warwickshire on July 23rd is the semi-final - haven't heard a location or time.

Kerry Junior Football Team V Lancashire All Ireland Junior Championship Semi Final The Kerry Junior team to play Lancashire in the All Ireland Junior Football Semi Final in Manchester on Saturday (2pm) shows 3 changes in personnel from the side that defeated Cork in the Munster final. Fionán Clifford comes into the full back line in place of the injured Darren Brosnan; Robert Wharton starts in the half back line instead of Patrick Clifford and Kevin O’Sullivan starts at centre forward in place of team captain Paul O’Donoghue who is carrying an injury. Sean T Dillon, John C. O’Connor and Dara Roche join the substitutes list. The team lines out as follows: 1 Darragh O’Shea Ballydonoghue 2 Fionán Clifford Waterville 3 Jason Foley Ballydonoghue 4 Cathal Ó Lúing An Ghaeltacht 5 Laurence Bastible John Mitchels 6 Andrew Barry Na Gaeil 7 Robert Wharton Renard 8 Adrian Spillane Templenoe 9 Michael O’Donnell Austin Stacks 10 Brian Ó Seanacháin Ballydonoghue 11 Kevin O’Sullivan Kenmare 12 David Foran St Senans 13 Sean Michéal Ó Conchúir An Ghaeltacht 14 Kieran Hurley St Pats 15 Niall O’Shea Dromid Pearses Fir Ionaid: 16 Kieran Fitzgibbon Kenmare 17 Dara O’Shea Kenmare 18 Patrick Clifford Templenoe 19 Sean T Dillon St Senans 20 John C. O’Connor Kerins O’Rahillys 21 Lee O’Donoghue Glenflesk 22 Paul O’Donoghue (C) St Marys 23 Dara Roche Glenflesk 24 Adam Barry Brosna Bainistíocht Bainisteóir: Stephen Wallace (Ardfert) Róghnóirí: Timmy O’Sullivan (Kerins O’Rahillys), Jimmy Keane (Brosna), Brian Hickey (Skellig Rangers). Additional Players on the Kerry Junior Panel: Daniel Daly (St Marys), Conor O’Shea (St Marys) and Shane Fitzmaurice (Brosna). Darren Brosnan (Gneeveguilla), Stephen O’Sullivan (Templenoe) and Ciarán Keating (Skellig Rangers) were not considered due to injury. All you want to know about Lancashire! Britain, just like Ireland, is divided into playing counties and within these counties are clubs. In Lancashire, there are 11 clubs. Manchester has 7 clubs: St.Lawrences, St.Brendans, Oisins, St.Peters, St.Annes, St.Marys and Fullen Gaels. In Liverpool there are two clubs: Wolfe Tones and John Mitchels; whilst Ellan Vannin Gaels are from the Isle of Mann and St.Patricks operate out of Chester. Wolfe Tones are a dual club, whilst Fullen Gaels are a hurling only club. They are joined by Emerald Gaels in Leeds to complete a three team Lancashire Hurling League. Ladies football is well represented in Lancashire where St.Lawrences, Oisins, John Mitchels and Wolfe Tones compete; they are joined by St.Christophers in Leeds. There are both Senior and Junior leagues to cater for all in both men’s and ladies football. Lancashire men’s football can claim to be the strongest footballing county outside of London. They last won the All-Britain Inter-County Championship, the ‘Sam Maguire’, apart from this year; in 2013. This was the fourth consecutive year in which they won the competition. On the club front the competition is fierce. Typically, the club which captures the Lancashire Senior Championship go in as favourites for the All-Britain club championships. John Mitchels have won this competition for the last three years, having to compete with the winners of all the other counties. There are 8 competing counties in Britain .St.Peters won it only 6 years ago. John Mitchels have competed in the All-Ireland Junior Final on two occasions, where they were defeated on both occasions by Kerry clubs. First up, was in 2009 when Skellig Rangers beat them by a single point. Secondly, Brosna stopped them only last year when they were defeated by only a point again. The Liverpool men were once again halted in their pursuit of the All-Ireland glory last year by another Kerry outfit, the impressive Templenoe. In hurling, Lancashire have entered the Lory Meagher Cup this year for the second time and are competing well. www.lancsgaa.co.ukKerry or Lancashire? Darren Russell hails from Kerry and now plays for John Mitchels and Lancashire. He is a small and nippy corner forward and his fantastic ball skills and quickness of thought are a huge asset for Lancashire. He has settled well in Liverpool since he arrived this year and is vital not only vital for his club, John Mitchels; but also for the county. Name: Darren Russell DOB: 25/02/1998 Club in Kerry: Asdee School: Tarbert Comprehensive Honours: County and Munster Junior B Champions 2014 Difference between football home and abroad: The main difference is probably tactically as here you have many teams playing a short hand passing game where as at home most teams tend to play more direct. There's definitely a difference in the physicality over here as well. Kerry Juniors in action in Manchester The Old Bedians Grounds in Manchester is the venue as Kerry Juniors put their All Ireland title on the line when they take on British champions Lancashire in the semi final that has a 2pm throw in time on Saturday Having won the title last year means that manager Stephen Wallace and his management team had to assemble a whole new team this season and while understandably, they were far from a coherent outfit in their opening game against Limerick, they played well against a seasoned Cork outfit in the Munster final. Of course it must be conceded that they had a little element of good fortune in that semi final against what was effectively a second string Limerick side and Adrian Spillane’s winner could not have come at a better time given that Limerick had no time to respond. In the provincial decider, we saw the attacking side of the team in the first half while in the second period when their backs were to the wall at times, we saw at first hand the defensive qualities of the side. . Team captain Paul O’Donoghue led by example in those two games but he is rated doubtful for Saturday’s game as is corner back Darren Brosnan, half back Patrick Clifford and Stephen O’Sullivan. John C. O’Connor of Kerins O’Rahillys, who did not play senior championship with his club last year, has been drafted into the panel for Saturday’s game. This is a potential banana skin for Kerry but knowing the management team, they will leave no stone unturned in an effort to reach a third successive final. Referee is Niall McKenna of Monaghan. Beaten finalists from last year, Mayo and beaten semi finalists from last year, Wexford meet in the other semi final, also on Saturday.
