I think Veteran is talking about the 'click and climb' effect and anyone who the Kerry jersey falls to is in the top 1%, and that is just the 'click' part, so we are talking the narrowest of margins when you get to that level. To play 16 times is significant and many did say he was the complete footballer so it was hardly surprising that Veteran stood accused of impartiality by those who didn't twig what was unfolding right in front of their eyes. I would best describe the 'climb' effect by Maher's 63rd min point v Tyrone in the semi; his steadying himself to convert was a magic moment and mid fielder's don't always 'climb' the skill ladder to that milestone rung, hence we have forwards. Anthony might now repeat, hopefully! Paddy was strong for a forward, a work horse who would be well suited with the trend of attackers filtering back to defensive duty and he always emptied the tank.
RIP, condolences to his family and friends.

Seeing a young man in his prime lying in a coffin is always awful, and the fact that the young man in this instance packed so much into his all too short life makes the loss even more acute. Condolences to his family and to the Moyvane GAA family.

Fair play to former County Chairman Sean Walsh for a very moving tribute to Paddy (available in the main news section of Kerry GAA). I hope it might be some small bit of comfort to Paddy's family and friends at this time.
