"SAM 07 This double DVD brings together all the highlights of the season and captures all the excitement and the drama of the Gaelic Football Championship 2007. For five years the All-Ireland title has been the preserve of three powerful counties, Armagh, Tyrone and Kerry. The champions start with impressive credentials: a strong and experienced team driven by Darragh O Se’s massive presence at centre field and the inspirational genius of Colm Cooper, at 24 already the greatest attacking talent in the game. Armagh has been patiently rebuilding and Tyrone will be many people’s favourites. Once more Dublin, getting closer to the All-Ireland every year, will launch a formidable challenge while Cork, under the county’s most successful manager Billy Morgan, are hugely motivated by the crushing defeats they have suffered against Kerry in the past two years’ semi-finals in Croke Park and will be out for revenge. ’It’s 17 years and counting since Cork won back-to-back All-Irelands in 1989-90. No county has retained the title more often than champions Kerry. Are they ready to do it again?’ Disc 1 - Features highlights of all matches from the provincial finals right through to the All Ireland Final Disc 2 - Features the Minor and Ladies Finals plus the complete Bank of Ireland All Ireland Semi Final between Kerry and Dublin played in front of 82,000 passionate fans."

Nice one for christmas week,i suppose the dublin kerry game was the game off the year,a serious contest.
CR videos in caherciveen have a nice dvd out if anyone wants a copy of the all-ireland final,it contains full coverage by RTE of the game, about 20 to 25 euro i think.
i recently found my video of the golden years in an old drawer that had being missing for nearly 10 years and a booklet production by the kerryman covering kerrys 3 in a row from '78 to '80. With a feale rangers captain then and for '08 and the three in a row booklet turning up unexpectedly i just love omens.
it will be a nice christmas, the golden years video,CR dvd of the all-ireland final,Sam '07 dvd,Mickos new book and Princes of Pigskin all sitting on the table screaming pick me,pick me.
i hope it keeps snowing all christmas, whats the way that christmas carol goes, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
Aaahhh a raging fire chuckling merrily in the open heart, countless supplies of hot whiskeys and irish coffees and the occassional walk along the wind swept beach.
let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Yes the magic is back alright, just thinking that the 80's were a great year for Kerry apart from one minor blip in 82, but the 90's pretty dismal. It is the very same as music, the 80's very good and the 90's brutal. And talking of the magic being back in music on this occasion, a great Irish 80's band Moving Hearts are also back with a dvd also. Yes there should more than enough there to shorten the winter!

I think you are right Rashers. The pendulum is swinging towards Dublin. The hand of history is on their shoulder. Only Father time saved Kerry in the semi final from Dublins march towards the hold grail. A 10% inprovement on the Dublins part and Kerrys three in a row will be in tatters.

And how many did they win? How much did they lose by?

In that space of time Kerry got to 4 Semi-Finals winning 2 and losing 2. We lost to Down in 91' by 7 points and in 96' we lost to Mayo by 6 points.

In other words, I'm comparing barren spells: 2 semi-finals, lost both as you detailed. In our barren spell, we've been in 3 semis, losing two by a point, one by two points. On two occasions the team that beat us won the final

Dubs are good at comparing barren spells alright, we bow to your superior knowledge in that regard rashers!!!!!!!!
Back to something like the topic of this thread though.......I recently bought a copy of the golden years on DVD on ebay. The quality is about as good as the original, which wasnt exactly a quality piece of recording.
I am also currently waiting for a DVD of the 2007 Final to be delivered. It cost me peanuts.
Thats father-in-laws present sorted so.

Would you not agree?

Can't believe the dvd didn't show Marc's block and interception against Monaghan in the quarter final. Almost as bad as a few years ago when they didn't show Darragh's 3 catches on the line against Limerick! They cut so much out of the year now it's ridiculous, the reviews are nowhere near as good as in 97 and 00.

Every year is different, and what happens is earned, and all can change very quick
