A night out with the Dubs is only good when one can compliment every sentence with the ubiquitous "shur best of luck next year...."

Tom Humphries refers for it as the 'false Kerry modesty' whereby we congratulate teams after beating them and come out with comments like ' Jaysus, you nearly had us there' and 'If ye had one more forward you would have taken us'. When in actually fact the reality is we always knew we were going to beat them......!!!

Seamus, you do know that it is that very same attitude that makes us want to batter every Kerry person in sight after a match??

I walked into Quinns after the All Ireland win over Mayo 2 years back to meet a few poor unfortunate Mayo gaa folk. They were absoutely gutted thinking that after beating Dublin they really were up for Kerry this time (lets not even go into the fact that the same problems still remained from 2 years previsouly, Nallen, Brady, etc). Yknow what p*ssed them off most the fact that they Kerry fans weren't even celebrating. I tried to explain to them that Kerry people don't celebrate per se, they just relax in quiet contentment that the cannister is home and all is right in the world again but the weren't ready to hear that. :-)

When in actually fact the reality is we always knew we were going to beat them......!!! Except this year, we were actually worried about Dublin. The false Kerry modesty went into over drive against Cork - sorry owen!!

Owenabue, yet again you confuse wind-up with "arrogance" - go and read Billy Keane's piece about his day on The Hill..... and while I'm at it, a Langer calling anyone else arrogant is the final word in hypocrisy - arent yis the self-professed god's gift in Ireland?
Well lads, nobody on here man or woman enough to take up my offer? Arent we all football people? There was a great evening with all fans I came across after the semi, and Joxer's and Maye's amongst other places were sights and sounds to behold. It would be nice to reflect back on that day and other things of the year, especially seeing as games between our counties are fairly few and far between
