Was at game yesterday...fantastic passion from both teams and both sets of supporters. It was at least 15 minutes before the cup could be presented. Looked like the whole of Lixnaw parish surrounded the team after the game. Lovely to watch. A touch of croke park on the terrace side when stewards wouldn't open the gates. The tops of the subs bench got a right battering from people climbing the wire and jumping down on them!

If a choice was given to the dual players from Lixnaw and Feale Rangers hypothetically of course,
would they chose the hurling or the football medal if they could only have the one?

I find it interesting that this thread is 5 pages long and began when the draw was made for the hurling championship and the final is now over.
I wonder is this indicitive of the level of interest in hurling in Kerry. Just to compare it to the North Kerry Championship thread which is currently 13 pages long and a ball hasnt even been kicked in anger (pun intended) in the competition yet.
Oh and by the way there was more than Paul and Eamonn playing for Lixnaw I believe.....

if you must know mickmack, ballyduff led ardfert by 8 points in the junior semi final with 10 minutes left in 2005. ardfert won by a point and went on to win a lot more. It could easily have been Ballyduff who won those titles, they have as much if not more talent at their disposal than ardfert. If you were at the game you might understand...

If the boys from Ballyduff could stay out of Purcell's et al they may have put up a better show.

Aye, Tulla haven't been there since 1933.....not sure about Crusheen. They gave Sixmilebridge a decent beating, but considering Tulla fairly spanked Clarecastle who've competed in a few club finals recently, I can see Tulla coming out on top here, they have the two Quinn brothers who have been around the Clare set up for an age, and Phillip Brennan who came on leaps and bounds this year when Davy Fitz pulled out of the county squad.

Tulla are playing Crusheen in the Clare final. Its been about 50+ years since Tulla won and Crusheen have never won(I think).A few mates of mine from Clare, reckon that the standard above there this year has been poor. One has to wonder what kind of hunger these guys will have for the Munster club championship.Plus they will probably be on the razz for the guts of a month!!Going on this you'd have to give Lixnaw a fair crack at getting the win. On the other hand,if the game is delayed because of Football final down here,it could play into the Clare champs hands again. All in all a great opportunuity for a Kerry team to win a round of the Munster Club.

If a choice was given to the dual players from Lixnaw and Feale Rangers hypothetically of course, would they chose the hurling or the football medal if they could only have the one? interesting question though maybe an unfair one given the commitment that these lads give various teams Lixnaw, Kerry, Finuge and Feale Rangers. i would say that if Feale Rangers win the football the scenes on the pitch afterwards wont match the joyous scenes after Lixnaw won the hurling. When you see a man like Eamon Fitzmaurice putting so much effort into winning a county hurling medal(3rd in total) after winning 2 All Ireland senior football medals with kerry it justs shows how much hurling and your hurling club means to lads in Lixnaw and North Kerry clubs generally. He looks like a man that is really enjoying playing more hurling now he has retired from Kerry. Paul Galvin would be chasing a football medal to further his career as a footballer and get the kerry captaincy and of course the medal itself. however, witnessing him celebrating with his fellow parishoners on the pitch last sunday it was obvious that the hurling medal meant just as much to win though a football medal would be the more valued currency across the county and a ticket to perhaps lifting Sam. Enda Galvin is now chasing an interesting doube. What odds a man of the match award in the hurling and football finals??? Another dual player who appears to be Mr Consisitent is Pat Corridan. Talented defender in both codes who gets the job with minimum of fuss
