A fantastic game it has to be said. Young guy from Derrynane scored a penalty for South Kerry, Galvin i think...looks a great prospect. Stephen Dwyer at full forward too was a huge threat for the South Kerry men....a great target man with strength and well able to field a ball...watch this space.
One comment regarding the referee...when Mid Kerry were down by a point and had a free to level it was checking his watch constantly...this free was then kicked wide. Time was up at this stage and South Kerry worked the ball up to the wing forward area...and what was a clear foul on a SK man was given as a free...AGAINST HIM! Mid Kerry then went down the field and kicked the leveller. He did not even try to cover it up by playing a few more seconds but blew it up right there and then....SK can fell aggrieved at this.
All in all, a fantastic disaply and congrats to both sides on what was easily the best game played in Killarney yesterday!

agree completely macker, great game with some very promising players.Agree also on the ref. South Kerry have every right to feel aggrieved...we'd be there still if mid-kerry hadn't got the equaliser when they did! Still, for the neutral, the replay should be well worth attending.

The reffing at the end was shambolic. AsMacker above said the way he blew it up so fast after the equaliser was not even funny. Made no attempt to at least hide the fact that he played for a draw. And i get the feeling that if it required another 2-3 minutes for a leveller to come then he would have done so.
Apart from that, the game itself was riddled with bad passing from both sides, especially at the end as the crowd grew larger, nerves perhaps. Some good players on show from both sides though, especially up front. That Steven Dwyer (nephew of Dennis) is a good prospect. Declan O Sullivans brother was full back and really should have been brought out to the middle where they were struggling. The replay should be good though. Anyone know of a fixture date?

a lot of refs suffer from......... "neither team deserved to lose syndrome" when reffing underage matches. Remember the Kerry v Roscommon minor final in Croke Park in 2006

Sth Kerry 2-10 Mid Kerry 1-13. Did anybody see this yesterday, sounds like an exciting match , any future Kerry Minors on display. Stephen Dwyer from Waterville is a great prospect (full forward the last day) and will probably end up on the Kerry Minors. He's a nephew of Denis Dwyer.

I only caught the last 5 minutes of it so would not be in a good position to report! South Kerry won by 2-08 to 0-08 I believe with that tidy corner forward Barry O Dwyer scoring one of the goals. Any one else able to enlighten us as how the game went as a whole?

I saw the last 25 minutes or so. South Kerry really played great stuff and were playing the type of football I would ahve expected their senior counterparts to play. Definitely some great prospects there for the future alright...

Jack is grooming this group for a cut at the hogan cup in the school at caherciveen, were lucky to have someone like him working away at the coal face of schools fooball in south kerry.School and underage success helps unite the different clubs in south kerry.
with the u21,s also winning the county championship theres plenty to be positive about from a south kerry point of view.
