Although most of it has been seen before in previous documentaries it's still great to see to see again. "Our King has left us". Still brings tears to the eyes. Legend.

Yeah it was good stuff - seemed to get a really great reaction on Twitter, saw a world of positive comments.
The scheduling of it ended up being very timely - with Westmeath having one of their great results last weekend and the Munster final on at the weekend.

I found it hard to watch at times, especially towards the end.
A salutary and timely reminder of all the O'Ses have given to us over the years. No harm with some of the nonsense that's been about over the past while.

In general a very good documentary, even if one was inevitably familiar with much of the material.
It's a pity it wasn't another 30 minutes longer. I felt his managerial career was raced through somewhat.

Very enjoyable. I recently read Paidi's book as well. A great character and a big idol of mine as a kid.
Makes me want to go back to the Dingle peninsula. I might just do that this summer.

Great documentary .. He was some player and some fella .. I'd day he was some craic! I'd forgot how much of a tank he was .. tough customer in his day .... I remember well watching that team as a kid and they are undoubtedly the best team Ive ever seen anyway..
I have a few questions for youse lads..
1/ Who was the big fella (I should know but cant place him .. its about 12 mins in) who was tickling the small chap when P Spillane was behind them with the cup as they were up receiving their medals?
2/ What was the injury Paudi's wife said scared him (and he gave up football after that) in 1989?
The O'Se family have given you lads some enjoyment over the years .. unreal !!
Also, the 2 daughters are bloody gorgeous !!

Don't think I've stopped in Camp before, but I've been to the South Pole Inn (and Inch strand) a couple of times. The first time I went actually, it sparked an interest in Tom Crean and his polar experiences. I've read a couple of books on him since. The other side of Dingle though is unbelievable though. There's something mystical or magical about the area around Slea Head.

Gave 100% and strong as an ox. Tomas was a similar style. They were a great team and ye definitely were spoilt during those years. But that team was full of legends. Those names still role off the tongue like it was yesterday. I met him once about 8 years ago, sat in his bar. No idea what I said to him, mainly because I didn't really expect to see him there, and was a bit awestruck. Anyway, I got a photograph with him and it hangs proudly on the wall at home.

I watched the the DVD from 2000 v Armagh.......it is truly shocking that Paidi had only 12 years to live after that

As far as I recall Dermot, the injury was one sustained in a Club game v Lispole. Paidi came out the worst of and needed several stitches in his head. I think, from what I remember him saying in his book, that he was playing the game to try to prove that he was back to full fitness for that summer. Annauscaultilidie might know better or anyone who had Paidi's book handy can read that piece.
I got his autograph and a few more at Kerry training, one night during the last years of that great team. I treasure that piece of paper even more now.
PS. All Kerrywomen are good looking.
