As if we didnt need any more proof that lazy GAA journalists dont trawl through various GAA forums for ideas, the Sunday Tribune yesterday took a swipe at this very forum for slagging off Ewan McKennas selection of his Team of the Year (see the thread on Page 3 thats now locked "2007 All Stars" or something like that (& look at their team I posted on page 10 of that thread).
The bauld McKenna, obviously still smarting from Monaghan's failure to win any silverware in their greatest season for 20 years, asks the question of us Kerry Forumites: Do ye watch any other football except the all ireland final?
Well given the 20 odd pages on the Kerry County Championship, the threads on the Intermediate, Junior & Novice Championships, county leagues, and the infamous North Kerry Championship on this forum, the numerous threads on all Kerry games (yes McGrath Cup, National League, even the feckin Underdogs game) since 2003 on the old forum and this, the same said "journalist" may well have a change in mind.
I'm not sure if the Sports Editor of the Tribune wanted somebody there to have a go at us given the (in my opinion foolish) calls to boycott the fine publication in the wake of the Liam (I wanna make a name for myself other than a failed journalist) Hayes controversy. Maybe Shannon still bears a grudge after being on the end of a few harsh words from Jack Connor last year. Maybe they know the paper is walking the plank and they might as well have a bit of craic before they are all out of a job. I'm not sure.
Just to let you know Enda McEvoy & Ewan McKenna, the "messiashs of football" watch more than one game a season.
