north kerrys intermediate and junior and novice championships have been got rid of and replaced by cups which means junior players in the district now have no championship to play in just league and cups! this happened at the last meeting of the north kerry board as some of the stronger clubs said they wudnt be able to field teams in championships as they had used junior players in the county competitions which is fair enough you will always use one or two from the b team but it seems numbers were up in the 9 and 10s which leads to ask who or where is there named first 15?? personally feel very weak on the north kerry board to come up with this loophole so teams can play players who are also playing in their a teams compete in these cups does anyone else know a district in kerry or even ireland where a junior player has no championship football to play in??

"junior players in the district now have no championship to play in just league and cups" A cup is championship! I'm not fully aware of NK situation, but given it's an time of emigration, I would think that it is a good move to not fix competitions/games that can't be fulfilled.
I agree that the Junior player shouldn't be forgotten, but if as you say they're are "league and cups", than I think that's reasonably enough.

This is absolutely the norm. Clubs name their 15 senior players and the rest are free to play Bs.

If a player, who isn't on the first 15, plays in the county senior, intermediate, junior or novice championships, he then cannot play in the "junior" championships like the Molyneaux Cup or district "junior" championships. Similarly if a player not on the first 15 plays for his A team in a district championship, then he cannot play for the "B" team in the district championship.

Great News!! The first 15 is named at the start of the year and everyone else is eligable to play Juniors for the reminder of the year which was always the norm in North Kerry and resulted in great games and champonships been played out and good numbers for competitions.
However now with a certain "junior club" looking for all the glory and trying the win handy compititions, they appealed this when they were defeated by teams playing players who werent on the first 15 but had played in the first round of the club championship (i.e county intermeidate/junior/noivce etc) when numbers were low.
Therefore depsite this loophole being ignored previously, it appears the North Kerry Board have had no choice but to stop these competitions as if they had to stop players who are not on the first 15 but played in the club championship for the above reasons, there would be no numbers!!
Moral of the story "If you want to play football, take your beating and dont be appealing, after all it is junior football"
