fell this needs a thread of its own, but admins, feel free to move into the main thread if you like.
Diarmuid Murphy - (7). nothing to do really, could not be faulted for the goal and kick outs were perfect. touch and go for an allstar.
Marc O Shea - (8)another great game, kept his man wuite and overall a great year. all star number 2 on the way for marc.
Tom Sullivan - (7) solid and overall, beat cussen, when he was his direct opponent.
Padraig Reidy - (7) did a great job on who ever was put on him. good end to the year for reidy and will become a vital member of this team over the next few years.
Thomas O Shea - (8) brilliant game, very close to giving him a 9. this game may have gotten him an all star.
Aidan O Mahoney - (9)top class once again. runs close to man of the match
Killian young - (8)another great game from the new man and a certain allstar to come. a young player of the year award should certainly follow.
Seamus scanlon - (9) maybe an 8, but f**k it, he did us proud and handled a pile of ball. well done seamus.
Darragh O Shea - (8)excellent game. his best of the year on a day where he became the most "capped" kerry player of all time. lets hope there is another year or 2 in him!
Paul Galvin - (8)Legend. thank god for paul galvin. Hampered with injury but still gives 100%.
Declan O SUllivan - (7)Quiter than his high sandards of the previous 3 games, but was effective. Possible player of the year, but an allstar for definate.
Eoin Brosnan - (7)could have been a 6 but set up a goal and a point and did some great work in the first half when it really mattered.
Colm Cooper - (10) unreal. class. magnificent. brilliant. awesome. best game i ahve seen him play. he must have handled the ball over 20 times.
Kieran Donaghy - (9)his best game of the year, even if he did not score the 2 goals, he would still ahve got the 9, cos he beat canty and then shields up a stick.
Brian Sheehan - (7)not a great game, but solid and did his bit but you always feel confident when he is on the field that if a match winning free is needed, he is the man to score it. if only he can get a temper into him he would be a gret player

Most of the above are reasonable. I'd give Tom Sullivan an 8. I think Sheehan was a bit more fired up than usual.
Subs: Darren, Sean and MFR have all, at one point or another this year been the difference between us winning and losing matches so fully deserved the run out (although they could've sat down and kept the boots clean yesterday).

My ratings
Murphy 7 - not much to do (after posting here at length re: the kick outs was delighted to see some variation yesterday!!) Marc 7 - Stready Eddie, was shafted by the ref on one or two occasions Tom 7 - did fine, helped by Cork not playing the right ball into Cussen Reidy 8 - giving him an eight because he has come on so much since start of year. Would like to see him a bit more careful in possesion Tomas 8 - Barnstorming performance (lets remind him that there is a reason he plays at the back!! 4/5 wides yesterday??) Aodhan 8 - Hard nut to crack, looks better on the wing.... Young 8 - another solid desplay, love the fact he looks so good in possesion Dara 8 - thanks dara... I had doubted but always thought you would pull the finger out when it really mattered!! Seamus 9 - delighted for him as he has taken plenty of abuse... most improved player over the year??? Galvin 8 - Eddie O Sullivan will be looking for him for the France match Declan 8 - deeper role meant he didnt get forward as much but contributed handsomely Brosnan 7 - did okay, and won some good ball. Thought he might have gone earlier for Sean Ban Gooch 10 - nothing to say. How many times did he leave Canty, Shiels, o'connor on their respective posteriers!! Star 9 - Always a handful. When fit and flying he will always cause problems. Wont be proud of his point-taking yesterday but with two goals hopefully he wont beat himself up too much!! Sheehan 7 - did a pile of work further out the field.
Only quibble with subs was that I would like to have seen them get a little bit more time. Sean Ban did fine, the others werent on long enough (did you see Galvins face when he was getting subbed!!!).

Most people have Sheehan as a 7. I'd bump him up to an 8. He got through a lot of ball around the middle of the field and set up some good moves.

Replaces previous ratings half of which belong to some one else!
Murphy 8 - Did absolutely nothing wrong. Improved kickouts. Marc 8 - Played well without reaching previous man of the match performances Tom 7.5 - Did well enough and slipped for Cussen point. Reidy 8.5 - Great performance. Tomas 8.5 - Centre back suited him for this game. The player with the most touches of the ball (22) and it showed. Aodhan 8 - Great 1st score rallied the troops Young 8 - Solid and assured Dara 8 - Thank you Dara Seamus 9 - Absolutely superb. Covered the length and breadth of the field. Was right up with Gooch when he nearly scored another goal. Made some good catches, distributed well, scored a point and made an important foul in 1st half which if he hadn't could have led to Cork goal Galvin 8 - brilliant Declan 8.5 - outstanding again. Brosnan 7.5 - crucial turnovers in early stages, worked well for the team. Gooch 9 - superb Star 8.5 - I feel there is even more to come from Star Sheehan 7.5 - Worked hard.

Murphy - 7 , Could do little for the goal, nothing else to do in game. Kick outs much improved.
Marc - 8 , Solid game, was unfortuante to have some strange decisions against him.
Tom - 7, Decent but not great, certainly don't think he'd the beating of Cussen when they matched straight up. Hardy man.
Reidy - 7.5 , Solid again , has improved with each game. Distribution of the ball excellent, always picked out the right man. Not a bad start to your first year!
AOM - 10, My man of the match. Should definitely have an all-star. Has been Kerry's back of the championship for me. Sums up all about this team for me. Hard -working, tireless, quiet, determined, tough, and packed with skill. Doesn't get the credit he deserves. Fine opening point too.
Tomas - 8, Good game by Tomas. Covers so much ground so quickly really adds a different dimension going forward. Distribution of the ball excellent too. So often players were fouled, went to take the kick only to drop the ball to Tomas, who fed the ball perfectly for the two inside men.
Young - 9.5 , Brilliant find, as others have said definitly young player of the year and surely an All Star too. His runs forward were a highluight for me on Sunday. Surely we have the best half back line in the country?
Scanlon - 9, Best game I've seen him play for Kerry. I was astounded by the amount of clean and dirty ball he won. His ball in to the gooch for the opener was super. His own point tells another story. On the run from not such a great angle, made a mockery of his attempts agin the Dubs.
Dara, 8 - Eclipsed for me by Scanlon, but kept Murphy quiet and that was the main goal coming into the game. Fielding and passing excellent as usual, although had a sloppy enough start.
Galv, 7.5, Good harassing game from Paul. Kinda hard to guage if he did anything to actually warrent getting a yellow card (which naturally meant he be called off), I don't belive he did. So important a player to this team.
Deccie - 9, My player of the year. Absolutely outstanding. Different type of game form him on Sunday, not as involved inside the 40, but his runs, link play and passsing were fantastic.
Brosnan - 7, The worst of the Kerry players for me, and is getting the benefit of being a pet of the boss I think. Having said that I believe it was Brossie that got the ball rolling on Sunday. His block down on Kevin McMahon (I think) really dug the knife in to Cork, I for one didn't think he was capable of executing a block like that, but his all -round play wasn't great I thought. Sean Ban has the edge on him I think, and would be a starter for me instead.
Sheehan - 8 , Good game, was a bit sloppy in the tackle, but once on the ball played very intelligently. Has made the spot his own, and can hold it for some time, due to the versatillity and importantly his kicking prowess.
Star - 9, Goals aside a fine game from the big man. May have been a lucky recepient of Cork errors but you can argue he stole both goals for himself out of pure hardwork! His relationship with the Gooch is unbelievable and to think they ahve 7/8 years ahead of them is frightening.
Gooch - 10. Best player in the country.

Muyphy 8 - Couldn't have done anything for the goal. His kickouts were great Marc O Se 8 - Certain All-Star and shortlist for POTY Tom O'Sull 8 - Did well on Cussen, made some crucial interceptions Padraig Reidy 7.5 - Great game, would have been an 8 only for the goal and dropping a ball near the goal in the 2nd half Tomas 8.5 - Outstanding and could be in line for an All-Star O'Mahony 9 - Contender for Man of the Match, great score Young - 8 - Young Player of the Year?? Darragh - 7.5 - Had Murphy in his pocket - did what was needed! Scanlon 9 - Contender for Man of the Match. Delighted for him Galvin 7.5 - The heart of this team, would have been an 8 only for a couple of bad wides O'Sullivan 7.5 - Not his usual self but was given a job and he did it well. Probable POTY Brosnan 7 - Worked hard and put in some big hits. Set up Star's 2nd, not sure if was intentional though. Gooch 9.5 - A genius at work, and he can get better if he chooses to be more selfish at the right times. Deserved Man of the Match. Star 9 - Some bad kicking in the 1st half but he destroyed both his men and those 2 goals he made for himself ;D Sheehan 7.5 - Worked hard all day and picked up a fair bit of ball around the centre - will be happy with his year.
