I suppose to be fair to Tyrone, they always knew the game was on the 4th and people would have made travel arangements etc and it would have been unfair to them too to move the game to Sunday. Ah well, it could all have been solved if the hurlers won the last day! Wonder if it goes to a second replay what will happen?

OK Owen......... what would you change so to sort things............. My memory might be slipping at this stage but was there not a hurling match in Croke Park last yeat before we played Cork, and before the Laois Mayo game. No...that was the kerry minors win over donegal in the semi final..great game. I was in the ground at 12. The place was eerily deserted. If Im not mis taken we had a big argument over this last year as well!!

We had!!
Can you imagine going for the minor hurling game at 11.30am!! You'd be having the pint with breakfast in the Gresham at 10. Sweet Moses, there's something savage about that kind of day.

Waterford did very well to survive what was an inevitable Cork backlash. I feel that Cork will not be able to re-produce that, and Waterford will have the momentum in the replay. Wexford will probably give KK a good game this time, and the Cats will suffer from being overwhelming favourites. Hardly enough to lose though.....

OK Owen......... what would you change so to sort things............. in fairness to the corkies mickmack, he has a point there. they have three matches on this weekend. in all differnt venues or times. I dont see why the tyrone - Meath game couldnt be with the kilkenny wexford game and Cork have their day with the minors, footballers and hurlers playing in Corke Park on Sunday. some people will go to all games and they should be accommodated. My memory might be slipping at this stage but was there not a hurling match in Croke Park last yeat before we played Cork, and before the Laois Mayo game. Hurling people want to watch hurling..........and more hurling..........and more hurling. I wouldnt agree to splitting up the hurling just to suit Cork but then........ I dont agree with giving Dublin the run of Croke Park against Derry either. The Kerry quarter final should be on the same day as the dubs. Cork are in the latter stages of all grades in both hurling and football.............. they are a victim of their own success.

Babs’ Tipp future in doubt, admits rocked Costigan
By Jackie Cahill TIPPERARY county board chairman John Costigan has admitted that things haven’t worked out for senior hurling team boss Michael ‘Babs’ Keating during his second spell in charge.
Costigan revealed that Keating’s future in charge could possibly be discussed at the
August meeting of the Board Executive but will most likely be put off until September.
Costigan said: “There’s an executive meeting of the county board in August, possibly it will be discussed but I don’t envisage anything being discussed as regards finalising our management team for 2008 until the month of September.”
Costigan said that last Saturday’s defeat against Wexford is a “source of great disappointment” and that he has detected a “morgue-like” mood among Tipperary supporters.
Costigan stayed in Dublin last Saturday night but revealed that if he had known what was about to transpire, he would have taken the train home that evening.
An avid greyhound racing follower, Costigan added: “I didn’t even go down the quarter of a mile to Shelbourne Park to watch the Champion Stakes.
“I stayed in Dublin, went to my (hotel) room and watched the dog race.”
On Keating’s position, Costigan said: “I’d wait until our first Executive meeting and I’ll talk to my fellow officers about it.”
Costigan told Tipp FM: “But I will say that the people we have as selectors at all grades are excellent people — they’re doing their best.
“He (Keating) came back two years ago at a veteran stage to manage Tipperary and created a buzz. It didn’t work out for him. John Leahy and Tom Barry have done their bit.
“I don’t know what the future is there but that’s all to be discussed.
“But I can assure the people of Tipperary that no stone will be left unturned to put proper management in place — whether they be the current or someone else — to ensure that Tipperary hurling is given the proper attention that it needs going forward.”

Cork hammered Waterford last night in Munster U21 hurling final ........ Waterford had no senior players involved . Cork had a few.
In 2004 we could have had a marvellous hurling fina l between Waterford and Wexford. Cork and kIlkenny came back in the back door and bored the heads off us in the final.
Now in 2007....... Waterford are Munster champs again and Cork after losing 2 games already are likely to be in the final. Disgusting.
i have always felt that there should be no back door for a county that won the all ireland in the previous 3 years. In 2007...... that would have given Cork and Kilkenny one bite at the cherry.

Don't be sure about Cork Mickmack - Waterford have the slight advantage going into the replay - they have the slight momentum and positive belief.

Waterford will win that game, Cork had a golden chance, and they couldnt take it, Waterford deserved their bit of luck.

They must get over Limerick.......
After the Cork game......this is tricky. The Munster final was close till Limerick blundered tactically and Dan got in for his two late goals. Waterford are better than Limerick if they can produce it again.......
Then Kilkenny in the final???

killkenny will be going into the final soft, bit like ourselves in '05,their journey to the final is a farce, offaly, wexford twice and galway.
i still firimly believe brian corcorans comments in his book about waterford is the little triger in waterford minds that has changed there mind set to that of winners.
waterfords preparation going into a final will be perfect assuming they beat limerick, but the cats are the cats on all-ireland final day.
its a hard one to call.

Limerick will be nicely fresh going into Sundays game, and this will level it up a little bit. Having said that, I've never seen Waterford so fit - Paul Flynn, usually a man to sit in his corner and that's that was covering everything inside the 50 yesterday and really looked hunger, as did Tony Browne the more the game wore on.
Brick Walsh and Ken McGrath were absolutely immense yesterday and I really would love to see them in the final, and I suspect we will. They have slightly too much for Limerick, but above all, have a huge appetite and seem to be able to handle whatever is thrown at them - apart from being five points up with ten minutes to play yesterday when they went to sleep.
Regardless of the result next Sunday, hurling doesn't have Cork v Kilkenny final, and that is always a huge benefit to the game.

Kerrygold....... Its more significant that Brian Corcoran wasnt there yesterday............... Cork badly missed him and havent replaced him........
Brian "brick" walsh is immense. What a player.
For 2007 Waterford made Brick walsh captain........ even though he is not from the county champions......... he is from the football part of the county. This is the first time they have broken with tradition.
No tomfoolery in waterford about the captaincy this year.
Watching waterford hurl raises the hair on the back of my head........ its the way the game should be played and its down to Justin McCarthy. If ye ever want to get inside his head...... read his book.....HOOKED........ unputdownable even if he comes across as arrogant at times

Hunger is something that drives animals on in the wild to take risks.
kilkenny will be appearing in 8 of the last 10 finals in september having won quit a few, they are well nourished and fed having feasted on green lush pastuers over a long period of time.
on the hand if waterford beat limerick they will be appearing in their first all-ireland final since 1963 and will be as starved as a herd of steers that have been driven across the hungery barren sandy plains of central america.

It will be the first final for one third of the starting 15 so any thought of a sated Kilkenny is wide of the mark. I would shed a tear to see Ken McGrath and Dan Shanahan win an All ireland.

Sympathy, well-wishing & sentimentalism will win nothing for Waterford, and if they fall into the trap of taking the wishes of neutrals on board, they will lose. It will be hard against Limerick, 3 hard games in 3 weeks is a big ask, especially when two of them are re-matches - an awful sytem to throw up such a draw. If they get through, they will have to throw everything at KK, and hope everything goes right on the day, to squeek a narrow win. My gut tells me that luck will play a big part..........

Even Paddy Russell got swept away on this time of goodwill for Dublin and disallowed the equaliser!!!!!!!! ;D

The Kilkenny goalie broke his arm against Wexford so James McGarry may be playing in the final.
To win it for James McGarry will be a powerful incentive now for Kilkenny.......

And so....... Tony Browne may never play in an All Ireland Final.......... or Paul Flynn. Or Ken McGrath.
And Kilkenny ...... after beating Wexford twice....... and Offaly once and Galway once ........... are in the final.
This is a disgrace.

What an absolutely sensational game of hurling yesterday...delighted for Limerick, roared myself hoarse in their cause and hope they take the final by storm as they took Waterford yesterday.

Delighted for Limerick! would love to have being there!!! You d have to feel sorry for Waterford though after how good they played all through the championship. Is it possible that they underestimated Limerick after the Munster final or were they lethargic after the 2 games against Cork....or was it simply that Limerick were better than them?

maybe we saw both spectrums yesterday, kerry struggling with a 6 week break and waterford struggling with three games in three weeks.
i agree with mickmacks last post, the structures are a farce as they stand at the moment.

Great to see Limerick win yesterday boys. Hope they give a good account of themselves against Kilkenny. Waterford's defense was shocking bad. I thought everyone was wishing Waterford to the final, Whereas Limerick battled down and fought there way there.

Kilkenny watched from the stands as Limerick played their All Ireland yesterday.
Waterford, with no disrespect, deserved to grace the All Ireland final this year, and to think that Tony Browne, Ken McGrath, Paul Flynn, the Bennetts and the Prendergasts won't play in an All Ireland final is a real shame, and it will be hard to see John Mullane, Eoin Kelly, Brick and Eoin McGrath get a chance either without the stalwarts of old. Since 1998 they have given their all to hurling, and were involved in the greatest game of hurling of the past 15 years in the 2004 Munster final.....but now they've nothing to show for it!
