Kerry's star full forward Donaghy, in an interview for this week's Kerryman newspaper states that when he got sent off against Mayo in the NFL earlier this year he felt like he had done a David Beckham (ala World Cup 1998 against Argentina) by "flicking" at the Mayo player with his boot. Now I've come to accept all the talk of Kerry being The Brazil of Gaelic Football, but now the players are imagining themselves kicking Argentinian players (If that makes Mayo the Argentina of gah, Trevor Mortimer would be Maradona & then John O'Mahoney must be in possession of The Poker Hand of God )

Have to say, Kerry were on fire, and would not have been stopped that day. Donaghy's goal was the kind of thing that makes many young lads dream & want to take up the game
I give more credit to Cooper for his goal than I did before, his anticipation of the rebound and the way he turned the defender, then fooled the keeper into thinking he was going to square the ball before slipping it past/under him from the acute angle
Super save by Murphy with his legs in the 2nd half

Rashers you must have been reading the Kerryman during the lock-in in the Listowel Arms. The sending off v Mayo was rescinded, it was against Fermanagh that he got the straight red for kicking.....

Fair enough, it was the way the Fear an Ti was pulling the guinness, no time to settle at all, nor my thoughts.........
