Was just wondering is there many players who have won both Football and Hurling County Championship medals? I would assume there would be a few with Lixnaw and Feale Rangers lately but who ealse?

Senditin,
I would imagine that Paul Galvin, Enda Galvin, Eamon Fitzmaurice, Pat and Muarice Corridan would have won both in recent times. Not sure.
In more distant times , Johnny Culloty and Brendan Lynch. If I am not mistaken, East Kerry won the hurling championship at the end of the sixties/start of the seventies and these two would have been on the team. Brendan, of course, would have played his football with Beaufort/Mid Kerry. Brendan would also have won a county football championship with UCC. Does that give him an unique collection? Perhaps, somebody else could throw light on this topic as I am not sure of my facts in this instance.

You are correct. East Kerry won it with Johnny Culloty and Brendan Lynch. I was at that game. Tom Prendergast also played that day.
Eamon and Paul have Cork football medals too of course.
Lots of dual winners from the 20s and 30s. Tom Gega O'Connor won a hurling medal with Dingle and of course the Rock won both on several occasions with the same players back then.

There would have been alot of Stacks players in the 20's and 30's they won quite a few at that time. I would think Mike Conway would have won both aswell. Interesting to know that Brendan Lynch and Tom Prendergast won hurling medals

Derry Crowley ( father of John) won a Co. Senior hurling medal in 1969 to add to the County Football medals ( and All Ireland Club) he won with East Kerry.

There are a few ex GAA players from Valentia Island who have a unique collection of county football championship medals. We'll call it the "the Kerry slam" Novice 1975, Junior 1981, Intermediate 1986 & 1995, County club 1986, County senior championship 1981 & 1982 (with South Kerry).

There are a few ex GAA players from Valentia Island Only an Islander would need to specify that players that won medals in 1975 are now ex-players!

Tommy Doyle from Annascaul would have done this also, he won a Novice and Junior Championship in the 70's aswell Intermediate championships in 1982, 1987 and 1992, a Club championship in the 80's and 2 county championships with West Kerry aswell as a number of West Kerry League and Championships and of course a few All Irelands aswell

Brendy Murphy would have to be in this group - if we had him now he'd be an automatic for full back in the kerry setup. One of the best club players in the county for years.
