Lot of talk down in Oz that Tommy might get a game tomorrow. He is on the emergency list and Kilda have a lot of injuries.

If Sydney Swans lose Tadhg is on the plane home and on time for the All Ireland final. If St Kilda lose Tommy will be on that flight. Hopefully both get to play tomorrow. St Kilda are favs. but I fancy the Swans.

nicoshea, my point is that the 2 boys in Australia being 2 former All Ireland winners with Kerry, would very likely like to be in attendance in Croke Park to see Kerry play in the final. It is a matter of somewhat coincidence that both are in opposition tomorrow morning. That is the essence of my point. They are Irish so home is Ireland though they would just be visiting. Maybe it is your interpretation of your words 'comeing home' that you find boring.

The title is a bit dated. It would be easier if the thread were renamed and the three question marks taken out and and Moran's name too (as he is no longer in Australia), call it 'Our boys Down Under' or something like that. Just to keep tabs on how they are getting on. Then there wouldn't be that 'Not this again' feeling when people see it at the top of the General Board.

The question marks over Tommy and Tadhg are totally valid untill we see what each player plans to do.

Sydney Swans win 82-57. Tadhg Kennelly did play a part. Hopefully now Tommy Walsh will get to Croke Park for the All Ireland final.

Tommy will be lining out tomorrow for Rahillys in the county league vs An Gaeltacht- its a must win game for both sides, so should be a cracker. Apparently he will be in the starting line up for next few weeks due to the finish of the AFL; recent developments at St Kilda with the departure of the coach and his staff could mean a return to Ireland for the big man on a permanent basis; can only be good news for Ciarrai for 2012 buy lets not hold our breath.

Tommy Walsh has moved to dismiss speculation that he will make a return with the Kerry footballers next year, confirming that he will once again play AFL next season.
There had been speculation that the 2008 Young Footballer of the Year would return home from his two-year stint in Australia and help boost what is an ageing Kerry squad next season, but the 23-year old confirmed his intention to return down under when speaking after an appearance for home club Kerins O’Rahilly’s at the weekend.
"I'll be in Australia next year. That's for certain. But I don't know too much more than that at this stage. I haven't signed anything yet, and we'll see what happens," he said.
Walsh adapted back to his first sport with ease over the weekend, scoring two points from midfield and full forward in a four-point victory over An Ghaeltacht in a senior league match.
"It's great to be back,” Walsh added.
“This was a big game for us because we needed the two points. This is what I miss the most when I am in Australia so to come home, put on the Strand Road jersey again and play with the lads is great."
Walsh, who according to the website of his current club St. Kilda was recruited from County Kerry FC, has yet to feature at senior level for the Melbourne-based outfit, but has regularly impressed for their second side, Sandringham, in the Victorian Football League (VFL).
He is likely to be retained by St. Kilda when he does return Down Under, which will probably be as a member of the Irish International Rules squad heading to take on their AFL counterparts in two tests at the end of next month.

Scored 2 early points on Sunday, and almost had a goal but hit the post. Marc went in on him then, and Tommy didn't get a sniff of it for majority of the rest of the game

tadhg was paraded around the MCG before the Grand Final this morning with all the other retiring players. It was a great final with loads of high catching and long kicking. No over and back handpassing which was a nice change from what we re used to watching here. From watching the AFL regularly I think theres a lot to be said for introducing the mark in Gaelic Football. It encourages a more skillful game. Players would be more inclined to kick long and the sight of a bunch of players going up to catch a high one is a great spectacle

according to statement on St Kilda website it was Tommy who asked to leave... Disappointing end to otherwise good Trade Week www.saints.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/5315/newsid/125215/default.aspxOn the last day of Trade Week, the St Kilda Football Club has reluctantly traded Tommy Walsh to the Sydney Swans for pick 35 and 68 in the National Draft. The St Kilda Football Club has turned three picks inside 68 to six picks inside 68 and two exciting new players in Terry Milera and Ahmed Saad. General Manager of Player List and Legal Affairs, Ameet Bains said the Walsh trade was the only low-light to a successful Trade Week for the Saints. “Tom Walsh indicated to the Club that he wanted to make the move to Sydney,” said Ameet Bains. “The Club reluctantly engaged in discussions with the Sydney Swans on the last day of Trade Week when it was clear that Tommy wouldn’t be returning to the Saints.” New senior coach, Scott Watters, spoke to Tommy at length this morning to assure him of the opportunity for him at St Kilda which came on the back of a new contract offer and elevation to the primary list. “The Club, and no doubt Saints supporters, are disappointed but every effort was made to convince Tommy to stick around.” At the end of Trade Week, the St Kilda Football Club has secured two exciting new recruits, Terry Milera and Ahmed Saad, as well as six picks inside 68. “Originally, the Saints had just three picks inside 68 so to end the week with six picks inside 68 and two new players is a good result,” said Ameet Bains. “The addition of Terry Milera and Ahmed Saad to the squad is obviously really exciting and we will go into the National Draft with lots of opportunities.” St Kilda will go to the National Draft with pick 25, 35, 37, 42, 60 and 68.
