Does anybody actually know what the story jersey wise will be for the final? In 2004 mayo changed to red. The normal jerseys are fairly similar so i presume someone will change. Was it against meath in the 80's the last time kerry won in their 'away' jersies in croker? From the images below they seem fairly similar

Both teams wore their home jersies in the quarter final last year, dont think there will be a need to change.i would hate to see us wearing anything but green and gold on the 17th.

As long as Kerry aren't wearing white like they did that day against meath in 01 which was incidently the last time Kerry changed colour in Croke Park attacking wing back.

Interesting. Can anyone confirm or deny? There's something bad about us changing jersey.

Thats their training top thats in the photo from Wednesday night. There will be no change in jersey - they are completely different greens and theres a load of yellow on our new jersey.

Looking at the photo above:
Caption competition I suspect:
Seamus: "So, I've to carry how many men on my back again this year?" Jack: " Don't worry, Declan will carry all of us".

Stacks I'd go with: Moynihan “Boss, I’m just counting all the dead certs for the all stars this year” O’ Connor “Ah yerra will you go way from me, you can talk about that all winter long when Micko is back and I’m out on me ear”

kerry should change as mayo wore red in the last final between them. last year watching that quarter final (both wore green) from the hill it was impossible to distinguish between the players at times with the sun. just dont wear the white ones again!

From the Independant today
Mayo opt to show true colours Thursday September 14th 2006 ADVERTISEMENT
SHOULD MAYO become Lilywhites for the weekend?
That was the inevitable question, considering they were dressed in all-white when they won their last senior All-Ireland in 1951.
Fifty-five years ago they wanted a distinctive contrast from their Meath opponents, so discarded their traditional green-and-red for the day and retained their All-Ireland title.
However, Croke Park have confirmed that both teams will be wearing their first-choice jerseys on Sunday.

I really think it is too much of a clash of colours, and some team should change.

Don't recall it being a problem last year when i think both teams played in 1st strip. Having said that the many men who are red green colour blind could be in for a frustrating afternoon!

agree ciarrai33, last year watching the kerry/mayo game from the hill it was impossible to tell the difference at times. i suppose it should be kerry's turn to change after mayo wore red in 2004.

Our new jerseys have a lot more gold in them than 2004 so we should be fine.
