To Jack and the Lads
You have done us proud as always. Great support and a fantastic display. As you said, the last year since the 2005 final has felt like 55 years for us in Kerry and the lads proved that yesterday with a display of skill, heart and passion. Even deep in injury time the guys chased with a driven desire to ensure victory and were a credit to our county. Credit to Declan for a fine performance and a thoughtful speech showing the spirit in the camp. Gooch is an unassuming genius and showed it on the big stage once again yesterday. Darragh, Seamus and Mike Frank, you are now approaching the number of medals you deserve after years of unmatched, dedicated service. Who knows there may be one or two more there for ye yet!
Enjoy the celebrations and a winter of things as they should be. Kerry as All Ireland Champions where we rightly belong!

Well done Jack, selectors, backroom staff, and most importantly the entire panel.
When the chips were down and even most of your own supporters doubted ye, ye came out and banished any doubters - you are the best team in Ireland. I'm glad I showed up in Pairc Uí Caoimh for the Munster replay to see the two extremes of what ye went through.
I hope Kerry fans will someday learn to appreciate that we are the luckiest football fans in the country and ye play to large numbers that give ye the respect so richly deserved.

Well done Jack and all the lads. Preparation and tactics were superb on the day.
And to all the Mayo supporters that shook our hands, drank pints with us, and danced the night away with us, keep the heads up. It will come for ye eventually and not a one will begruge it when it does

I woke up the morning after Munster had won the European Cup in May, and while obviously thrilled, and having enjoyed the euphoric nature of the win, I felt just happy the next day that I had been there having treked around Europe following them.
Kerry won yesterday and I wasn't even there. But waking up this morning, there was a far greater sense of contentment that the world was right again, that Sam was heading south. It means much more really.

To be in the Hogan for the presentation was sureal. What a kind gesture from dos to let the gooch lift the cup with him. Jack has to stay to try and retain OUR cup.

Congrats to the Kerry panel and management. Fantastic performance. Delighted for the two lads winning their first, Donaghy and Darren O'Sullivan and those winning their 4th and everyone in between. Particularly pleased for Tommy Griffin who spent years in the panel with little playing time finally gets his just reward. On a personal level the victory was slightly tainted for me by not getting a ticket despite asking thousands of people over the last week and from 9am to 3:30pm on Sunday. It was especially sickening to see at least 10,000 Kerry fans going to their first game of the year.

It was especially sickening to see at least 10,000 Kerry fans going to their first game of the year. There are many kerry fans who may only go to one match during the year but many of them put a lot of effort in grass roots GAA taking kids to matches, raising money etc and I feel they are more entitled to a ticket than these other "loyal" supporters who follow the senior county team for a few games from munster to the All-Ireland and never contribute to the development of new talent. (Not that I'm accusing you of that Jo90 , but most people involved with clubs at local level do manage to get tickets.)

Well done lads. ;D Great win and great turnaround of the season. It was great to see the joint presentation as it was kerry being original after using traditional methods on the field. Great display by all in the final but I think the Armagh game was the one that meant the most. Well done all involved ;D.

Firstly im sorry if i ruin the good vibe here and a huge congrats to the kingdom. But this post by hatchetman is TOTAL B.S. i wouldn't be surprised if sunday was your first game of the year! And your dig at the "loyal" fans as you put it is fairly low as it takes a lot of time and money following Kerry for the league and c'ship throughout the year. I was lucky enough to get a ticket for the game and a few of my friends who were at all the c'ship games with me weren't so lucky. It was sickening seeing ppl from my own area who i know wouldn't go to a game from one end of the year to the next strolling in to Croker. Think before you post!!!!

I didn't go to the match on Sunday, never said I did. All I said is that the people I know who are actively involved in the GAA at a local level managed to get a ticket and I don't begrudge them that ticket irrespective of whether they go to watch Kerry regularly or not. The Kieran Donaghys and Paul Galvins of this world aren't plucked from trees as fully formed stars ready to slot into the Kerry team. It takes a huge amount of time and dedication to transport and support players like these from under 10 upwards and most of the time without a single word of thanks. I never said that the people who go to to many league games and most of the championship matches don't deserve a ticket, I thought there was a process in place if you attended so many matches you could send your stubs in for all Ireland tickets. I was referring to those people who attend the 3 or 4 big games from the Munster final on but make little or no contribution for the rest of the year.

Ever dawn on you hatchetman that we mightn't be able to get to more that four or five games a year?
That we live in Dublin or further afield?
That we are dedicated Kerry people that pay as much attention to what is happening in Kerry football as those at home in Kerry.
That we contribute financially to club and county year in, year out?

fair point Stacks. I was away all Summer in 2004 and only made the final and a couple of the lads who didn't get tickets threw a few jibes. I got up most mornings that Summer at 8 to make pus for games and paid admission and if I was home would have been at every game. I was at most games this year and missed the final due to work commitments. Get over it. I doubt many true fans miss out. #if you believed everyone who said they were at every game then the attendances would have been a hell of a lot bigger.

hi too all, just joined the site and this is my first post. I just wanna congratulate jack and the lads also for an absolutely fantastic performance and a day when i shed tears on the deck of the hallowed croke park. to look up into the hogan and see declan and gooch lift the holy grail skyward will keep the hunger of a proud kerry fan satisfied till i suppose around christmas anyway. the pangs of hunger will start to kick in again as a new year dawns and the appetite for sam to remain in the Kingdom for a second year on the bounce will ache in our bellies. thats what its like to be part of the green and gold army. its our heart and soul and days like sunday are worth living for alone. what a team, and what a showing from the kerry faithful it was on sunday and also on the day we served the rebels there cold dish of revenge and humble pie for desert. we out numberd them, out sang them, and out played them in the semi final and i returned back to leeside where i live with the chest out chin up and a smile like a person that slept with a coat hanger in the mouth. All that thanks to those giants that brought sam to the kingdom for the 34th time in the history of not PROBABLY the best county in ireland but IS IS IS the best county. So thanks for the opportunity to post this thread. Again thanks to jack and all the lads that made our yearly wish a reality on sunday. good look and thanks )

Welcome Isfearliom. I concur with your sentiments. I got my ticket at 11.30 on sunday morning only because a pal of mine felt sorry for me (he is a dub supporter who's company has Premium tickets) cos he had a ticket and I didnt. I owe him a bottle of single malt for the gesture.
Delighted for all the players and management and indeed supporters. I live in Dublin and travelled to most of this years matches, bringing my eldest son with me. Dead handy for me to get to croker if I could only get tickets easier. but spare a thought for the poor Mayo folks. I was sitting between two of them and it really was gut wrenching for them.
Hope they win one soon
