What a run, what a point, what a player  there was no fear that tom was going to slip on the new surface with those rugby studs! i think marc had similar studs on. did anyone notice what happened to david henry before goochs goal? he lost his footing and as jack referred to many times in his book "its a game of inches" there the small things that win matches Colm gave him a nudge. Give it another watch, it wasn't even subtle, two hands into the back. Game of inches alright. Its only a foul if the referee sees it I guess. |

Thats Eugene McKenna's son - He seems to have the same trait as his da ... It looked like he could jump up and then "hang" in the air for ages ... always looked weird but he could do it all the bloody time. |

I dont think you could find a more apt picture to describe the second half of that game. Dara just wasnt left play and Paidi didnt have a plan B. |

I'd love a non-scanned and non-captioned version for my desk top. I remember it was the front page picture of the Sunday Indo the next day. I'll never forget the look on my father's face when on the Saturday night in Dublin I ran into a Spar and came back out with the Sunday papers. He had no idea you could get the Sunday papers on Sat night. The 1st thing I showed him was that pic of Donaghy's goal. |
