reports of draw are;
moyvane bye finuge bye ballydonoghue bye ballyduff v desmonds duagh v emmets tarbert v beale brosna v knocknagoshel ballylongford v st. senans
a few nice clashes there already, tarbert and beale sick of playing each other this year, ballyduff and desmonds could be a big 1 if both teams put in a bit of interest

ur lookin at ballyduff, beale, brosna, emmets & ballylongford for quarters. always throws up a few shocks though that been the beauty of the jingle bells chship. hard to look beyond finuge. not as drained as they were last yr wit junior all ireland run & hurling involvement. plus fitzmaurice will be back gunning for ftball having played nothin wit ky all yr.

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not another year of people telling us how good North Kerry football is!!
Just to clarify my position: Please no posts about how 'if Mr X trained he would be great'. 'If team y get it together they will win it'. 'Shannon Rangers will win the County u-21 next year'. 'If the North Kerry teams trained for the league and county championship they would win all round them.' 'If Ballyduff stopped kicking the sh**t out of each other they would win the AI'.
I have no problem with people talking about the North Kerry Championship but the reality is County League table and the County championship do not lie. This is where you gain the respect of the rest of the county. Incidents like the Ballyduff players refusing to play with Shannon Rangers again just tarnish an already poor reputation. Maybe this is why Castleisland don't take it seriously?

True enough Seamus, the South Kerry Champions are near the basement of division three for a number of years but this time it will take a near miracle for them to survive the drop to Div. FOUR.

True enough Seamus, the South Kerry Champions are near the basement of division three for a number of years but this time it will take a near miracle for them to survive the drop to Div. FOUR. Read my statement about county league and county championship. South Kerry are the kingpins of Kerry football and are going for a 3 in a row. Having said that a few of their teams are starting to struggle a bit after a few glorious years. Marys are a mess and both Dromid and Valentia are not performing as well as before. North Kerry is way behind South Kerry, East Kerry,West Kerry, Killarney, Tralee in terms of football right now. Thats why i think it is over hyped.

SEAMUS IF U HAVE NOTHIN GOOD TO SAY PLEASE DONT BE BOTHERING THOSE WHO HAVE AN INTEREST IN PROBABLY THE MOST COMPETITIVE DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE COUNTRY.
ALSO JUST AS A MATTER OF INTEREST STACKS WHAT CONSTITTUTES A 'WORTHWHILE POST'

They won those county championships mainly due to their large pick plus a change of attitude. Most of the individual clubs are on the way down only Renard seem to be improving. I would rate at least three North Kerry clubs on par if not ahead of the best South Kerry have to offer.

SEAMUS IF U HAVE NOTHIN GOOD TO SAY PLEASE DONT BE BOTHERING THOSE WHO HAVE AN INTEREST IN PROBABLY THE MOST COMPETITIVE DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE COUNTRY. ALSO JUST AS A MATTER OF INTEREST STACKS WHAT CONSTITTUTES A 'WORTHWHILE POST'That certainly doesn't. The most competitive divisional championship in the country? Have you come down with short term dementia? What evidence have you to back up such rubbish? Have you had a look in Galway, Tyrone, Dublin, even Cork recently? Just because a multitude of football starved fanatics in North Kerry venture out in the middle of winter to watch a mud wrestling bout, you can't go around claiming it's the most competitive divisional championship in Ireland. We're already at the end of page one, and only one post is worthy of being kept, that's the one with the draw details.

When did the other district championships finish last year stacks? Don’t bother telling us about the Tralee District Championship, nobody is interested in that. You seem to be too consumed with NK football, whenever you get a chance you add a snide remark ridiculing our championship on threads that have nothing to do with the subject. Otherwise your posts are of top quality so please try and get over your NK phobia, we happen to have contributed enormously to Kerry football down through the years.

I think your man seamus has a point alright Nk teams need to get more competitive. 1 or 2 of the clubs are peaking peaking at the wrong time. Having said that I still think it is a great competition.

I've never seen a NK championship game in my life to be honest but from what i hear, its tough physical stuff. The fact that its always on near xmas doesnt help the games as most will be played in muck and sh*t which is not the players fault (and not really fair on them either)
As regards the SK championship in previous posts, sorry to say but Valentia's win last year came as a result of an easy passage the final, beating the worst team in sth Kerry (sorry Derrynane) and then beating Renard the day after a Renard players wedding. Dromid beat Portmagee away, then Wville after a replay, 3 tough games in 4 weeks. They simply had nothing left in the tank for the final. Once again the SK final should be on late december. ITS ALL KERRYS FAULT!!!!!
Back to NK football, from what ive seen, i think Finuge and Desmonds have the best teams, but as other teams, Ballyduff, Moyvane etc etc have proved in recent times, county league positions count for absolutely nothing come throw in time.
I think i might try and make it to the final this year!

Whats the story with Moyvane getting a bye to the quarters nearly every year?! Think the draw is good with some great ties Brosna/Knock Duagh/Emmetts.Beale and Tarbert playing for the 4th or 5th time this year?! Ballyduff/Desmonds-depends who turns up if any team at all turns up! Bally should beat Senans. Whats the betting on moyvane meeting the winners of the brosna/knock game?! any news on the u21 draw?

it a wonder the county board risked making the the draw for the north kerry championship before the all-ireland final for fear that it would distract the county players and the general public away from the all-ireland final,a shocking risk really.

North kerry championship!!! Post by flash on Today at 2:56
I know its early to be thinking about the n.k championship but seens as the draw has been made, we might aswell have a natter about it!
Ballyduff v desmonds Tarbert v beale Emmets v senans ballylongford v duagh brosna v knocknagoshel
Ballydonoghue,moyvane,finuge...byes
anyone got any predictions on how they see these games going??who they fancy 4d championship etc.... some interesting first rd games. tarbert and beale should be a v. tight game.beale are flying it but tarbert also going fairly well...too close to call!! ballyduff to beat desmonds(no interest) if there not still out on the beer if they win the hurling final. duagh always up their game in the championship, would fancy them against bally and brosna to get past knock in what should be a firey encounter!!

Re: North kerry championship!!! Post by bannerman on Today at 13:15
Draw is wrong there flash plus a thread has already started where people have aired their opinions on the nk champ they just dont realise what is it like to train and play for the first round of nk champ.....
The draw is beale v tarbert listowel v duagh ballylongford and senans desmonds v ballyduff brosna v knock....
Predictions are beale, listowel, ballylongford, ballyduff and knocknagoshel to advance. Tarbert and especially duagh could spring suprise as they training like hoors for county junior semi

Ballyduff did a County Hurling & North Kerry football championship double back in mid 1990s as far I can recall. It cant be ruled out
Compare the reaction last sunday after their hurling win & the reaction to their NK football win last xmas & it is clear that the small ball still stirs the most passion in Ballyduff.
The Nk football is always very open but I feel it is more so this year. also, let those that cant stand this thread sod off please
