Well then, all over the country the gongs have been handed out. The tux your father wore to see Big Tom and the Mainliners in 1977 in the old hall in Firies was dusted down, some Lynx thrown on. The Hillman Hunter was scrubbed of all dung and rust before being parked half a mile from the hotel to facilitate a quick get away if the hoors in uniforms came to raid the late bar. You ended up having a fight with a man you never met before over a game you never saw in Clonakilty, featuring a controversial goal you saw scored in a different game seven years later in Brosna.
It’s time for the fine fence sitters that most of us are to get up off our arses for once and vote in the second annual kerry.gaa.ie forum awards.
The method is simple. Take the blank questions template below and add your choice of vote. I’ll be adding up the votes on December 22nd when we’re all too hungover to do any work. All topics, unless otherwise stated, are open to Kerry GAA players only.
This year there are some new categories to replace one or two less well received ones from last year. In the case of Hall of Fame winner, the terms and conditions are that the footballer or hurler must have played for Kerry between the years 1900 & 2000.
Happy voting.

And of course i will be a bit biased toward my own club man. He put in a fairly good display against South Kerry as well in Championship and wasn't blessed like Leary to have a player of Gooch's calibre around him.

There is only one condition when you are selecting your hall of fame nominee: the person must have played football or hurling for Kerry between the years 1900 and 2000 (see first post).
As with the Baseball Hall of Fame, there is a five year gap or thereabouts after you retire before you can be entered. In this case, it's open to all people who were playing in those years, even if they are still playing (Seamus Moynihan for example). Just go back and edit your post instead of doing a new one for that vote.
Essentially, I'm looking for who you think is the greatest Kerry footballer / hurler of all time. Each year the list will grow.
And in the interest of fair play, since I set up the voting, I'm discouting any votes for myself in the contributor of the year.

Yes think Mr. Tim Kennelly is well and truly a justified nomination for the Hall of Fame. The title "legend" does not fit well on some people but without a doubt it is the perfect way to describe this great man. A colossus of Kerry Gaa who will be sadly missed.

Footballer of the year: Colm Cooper closely followed by kerry's most improved and consistant player this yr Marc O'Shea
Hurler of the year: JM Dooley
Club of the year: Ardfert, great achievement for the club.
Performance of the year in football: Gooch performance v Cork in all ireland semi
Performance of the year in hurling: Eoin Kelly (Waterford) v Cork in Munster Championship
Minor of the year: Killian Young, total consistancy.
Kerry score of the year (inter county and club / divisional both eligible). Maurice's 3rd point in the county final, Living legend!! Words dont do justice to the player, just to privilaged to have grown up and seen him play, still doing the business at his age, a credit to the man.
Goal of the year (open to all scores in Ireland) Tomas O'Shea's v Westmeath in League; looked for the quick free on half way line, went up field with the ball, waving thru the defence played a one two and from outside the box struck a fantistic goal! For a defender to do that speaks volumes of the player.
Point of the year (open to all scores in Ireland): Brosnans point in all ireland final....quality play from the backs up and a fantastic kick by eoin.... thinks looked good at that stage....didnt they!!!
Football team of the year (open to any team in Ireland) As the question says "Football" i didnt consider Tyrone! My Vote goes to South Kerry for their achievement of 2 in a row, such a hard achievement in the modern game.
Hurling team of the year (open to any team in Ireland): Cork for the same reasons as the piont above
Forum Contributor of the year: Austinstacksabu
Kerry.gaa.ie Hall of Fame Nominee: Tim Kennelly, with the events of recent wks i think it would be appropriate.
