could be a double for St Senans\Crotta in 2023! Senans would be favourites but so were Listowel and Desmonds before the weekend. Fairly open now, will be interesting to see Tsrberts reaction, they never got going today but surely they'll park now after seeing another two big guns fall by the wayside... they may quietly now fancy their chances. However, the three semi finalists already in situ will be thinking similarly. Funnily enough, Moyvave will also see Tarbert as being vulnerable after today.... its a mad championship

Their strong defensive line, led by players such as Cillian Trant, Sean McGrath, Bill Keane, Barry Mahony, Sean T Dillon, and the Behan brothers, Darragh and Aodhan, displayed exceptional resilience throughout the match.

There is no way it could be that poor though could it. Surely there was someone there who could report what actually happened. The match survey warranted a newspaper reporter from either of the kerrys. It was a cracker alright , littered with excitement, wides, poor reffing calls , some undoubted class and skill and drama. Always drama. I think senans were lucky to get them on the hop from their Co success but they will be the better from this contest. Bdonoghue are going hard from what I hear. Weather and pitch choices could well dictate the final pairing though.

Bernard O Callaghan Memorial North Kerry Senior Football Championship Semi Final; Sponsored by McMunns Bar and Restaurant, Ballybunion. Report by Jack Hennessy
Tarbert 0-15 Moyvane 0-14 AET.
Tarbert left all the disappointment of loosing their recent County Final well behind them as they advanced to the semi final of the championship on Sunday last at O Rahilly Park, Ballylongford before a huge attendance that were in full voice throughout cheering on their respective clubs who provided a fantastic game of fast open football. It took over 80mts before we could declare a winner and at the end of it all just a point separated these two neighbouring clubs .Certainly this was not a game for the faint hearted with both teams going hell for leather and played in a true sporting manner giving excellent match Referee Mike Hennessy to go about his business without fuss. Moyvane were enjoying early possession and by the 14th mt had gone 3pts without reply with Martin Stack, (2) and Rian Quinn on target. Eventually Cillian Langan who finished as the games top scorer with 7pts kicked over a hatrick of close in frees to level up the game by the 20th mt. So after Moyvane dictating play early on the Shannonsiders were now getting to grips with the game. John Coolahan sent over a neat point to put Tarbert ahead for the first time in the game. From here to the half time whistle it was full throttle and the sides were all square on 3 occasions. Play drifted from end and the remaining scorers; Patrick O Connor and Darragh Mulvihill for Moyvane while Andrew Doherty, 2 frees, Eoin Flaherty and Michael Heaphy replied for Tarbert. So at half time it was Tarbert with that late burst that saw them lead by a single point. Tarbert 0-7 Moyvane 0-6. On the change over it was Andrew Doherty who extended Tarberts lead to 2pts while midfielder Shay McDonnell added another. Martin Stack and Cillian Langan exchanged points as every ball was now contested as if their lives depended on it. Rian Quinn pointed for Moyvane to 0-10 each with 9mts remaining. Now Moyvane were in full flight but a teak tough Tarbert defence stood firm with Shane Enright directing proceedings. Patrick O Connor and Cillian Langan were on target and with time almost up it looked as if Moyvane would hold on having that 1pt lead. But the Shannonsiders had another twist to the story; Cillian Langan won possession around the middle of the field; he drifted out towards the line at the Village side of the pitch and from at least 35 meters out he unleached a mighty kick that split the uprights and put the game into extra time. 0-12 each. 20 more minutes and nobody leaving and its still anybodys guess as to who will take on St. Senans in a semi final. Certainly Tarbert should have goaled in the first minute as the ball bobbled almost on the goal line but somehow a defender got it up and cleared to safety, however from their next attack Cillian Langan pointed and was followed by a monster 45 from the boot of substitute Tadhg O Connor . Tarbert 0-14 Moyvane 0-13.2mts remain and it was Tarbert with another substitute Gavin Breen who put 2pts between the teams and with virtually the last kick of the game Martin Stack pointed as the final sounded. What can one say only credit both teams for a whale of a game and are a credit to their clubs. Football was definitely the winner. Teams and scorers. Tarbert, Pa Carmody, Daniel O Connor, Kevin Enright, Micheal Carrig, Danny Wren, Shane Enright, Sean Carrig, Shea McDonnell, 1pt, Michael Heaphy, 1pt, Michael Normile, Cillian Langan, 7pts, (3f), Finbarr Carrig, John Coolahan, 1pt., Andrew Doherty 3pts (3f),Mark Buckley. Subs, Danny Stack, 1pt, for Finbarr Carrig, Paddy O Callaghan for Andrew Doherty, Gavin Breen, 1pt. for Michael Carrig, Ambrose Lannigan for Micheal Normile. Moyvane; Padraig Leahy, Oisin Kennelly, Owen Stack, Eamon Stack Mulvihill, Shane Carmody, Shea Leahy, Donal Stack, Shane Stack, Eamon Flaherty, 1pt, Fionn Mulvihill, Martin Stack, 5pts,Patrick O Connor, 3pts, Jerh Brosnan, Rian Quinn, 1pt,Darragh Mulvihill. 1pt, Subs; John O Connor for Fionn Mulvihill, Jamie Moloney, 1pt, for Jerh Brosnan, Michael Kissane for Rian Quinn, Jack O Keeffee for Darragh Mulvihill, Tadhg O Connor for Eamon Stack Mulvihill, Liam Greaney for Jack O Connor. Referee Mike Hennessy, Ballyduff.

Good game between Ballydonoghue and Beale today. Good bite to it - on field and sideline also! - which even a very fussy ref couldn’t spoil. Both sides missed a few chances but draw a fair result.
Replay next Saturday will be interesting.
Senans will be hoping their Crotta lads came through ok today after 90 odd minutes as they face Tarbert. Bit poor that NK Board haven’t a venue announced yet for this one.

still alot of games have been played lately, on most pitches. they have the best in the country in north kerry overall.
weather looks dry for the most part this week also.
listowel using their own pitch, for their munster campaign so id say they wont get any games.
tarbert v ballydonoghue/beale final would be Ballylongford youd imagine.
senans v ballydonoghue/beale final would be Moyvane surely.

Im not sure so check it out but I think the Tarbert/Senans game is fixed for Duagh. I was at a girls game there over the weekend and the pitch is in great condition.

I envisage Final will be in Ballylongford again... would be surprised if the powers don't rubber stamp that.. lot of pitches in trouble.. Tarbert, Asdee and Finuge are unplayable, Listowel are minding it for Munster and understandably so. Beale is in good condition but beale being involved kills that.
Brosna is in good shape.. Moyvane is in good enough nick also.. have heard nothing about Duagh...

I'm guessing this is more about Emmets being snubbed by the NKB again. Not a single game in the championship this year and it's not the first time.

Listowel will want their pitch for training and challenge games, I am sure they are not bothered. Plus the fact that all first round games are not neutral venues, they got a bye in first round. Add in their neutral 1/4 final and it leaves very little games left for them to have. Talking what, 4 so far??

Keep an eye out for a surprising (maybe not a shock to some) name on the emmets team sheet tomorow in Clare. A man returning after a good few years absence

Jus received an update that after disapproval from senior players and senior members of the club, the returning player is now ‘injured’
