I was wondering if any of ye know the seating layout in killarney. In the covered stand, how many seats in each section and do the numbers start from the top or bottom? Its just that i have ticket number 178 for Saturday and was wondering what level i was at. In section A so i presume thats the endline!!
Any help would be gratefull.

section A is on the endline and your seat number is right near the front of the stand. I would look at getting a swap going as you would be much better on the terrace than with that ticket!

Section A is definitley the endline and the numbers start at the bottom with roughly 30 to 40 seats per row. So you should be 5 to 6 rows back. Stuck in the corner!
Sorry Seamus , Hadn't seen your reply before I posted.

Thanks for that lads, as i thought If i was up 4 to 5 rows would i be over the wire? Also, do the terrace tickets allow you into the stand across from the covered stand or whats the story for tickets for that?

You would be staring at the wire and as Seamus said you would be better off in the terrace, There is no stand across from the covered stand . It is all colour coded terrace. At the minute terrace tickets seem to be widely available, even through Ticketmaster.

Cheers, colour coded terrace tickets. What colour/section would be the best, nearer to the center etc?

Looks like it will be a green or blue terrace ticket and the umbrella!
Can anyone clarify the colour of the best tickets in the terrace?

Blue is best. Green is not far behind

Blue or green so thanks. Presume you can go to any level in the stand with these tickets?

No you can go anywhere on the terrace and as any true GAA fan will tell you there is no better place to watch a game in killarney than on the Terrace. That stand is a crap place to watch a game - I'd go on the terrace and have a proper view and discussion with hard core gaa fans even on the wettest and windiest of days. It's a great place to watch a game from.

So people who sit in the stand aren't 'true GAA fans' - that's pure rubbish. is it just me or are the 'be all, end all' opinions we are hearing on this board getting under anyone else's skin too?
Where you sit (or stand) is a matter of personal perference, not an indication of your interest in a match.

Of course it doesn't matter whether you sit or stand, You will find genuine fans on the terrace and genuine fans in the stand. You will also find idiots in both sections.

Hear hear Orininal KY fan. Some posters should realise that their opinion is just their oponion, and not a matter of fact.
I know many people who go to the stand because they can't take 2-3 hours on the terrace in the sunshine, this does not make them anjy less of a GAA fan. And I think you meet just as many "characyers" in the stand as anywhere else.
I also agree with the opinion that the best view in Killarney is from the terrace, anywhere between the 45's I think is ok. The red tickets are the end by the changing rooms and will be packed with Cork people so Tipp fans should get swapping. The stand in Killarney is sectioned A-J (I think), A being on the town end. The Ard Comhairle is at "E", and high numbers are definitely preferred as the view low down is pretty poor.

No it doesn't of course not - plenty older supporters prefer to be out of cold and sit down while watching a game and it doesn't make them any less a true GAA fan. But no one could argue that the view and perception of the game you get from the hill in Killarney is far superior to the Stand! It's one of the best if not the best Terraces in the country!

Of course someone could make the argument that a view from certain areas of the stand is equally as good, if not better.
It's an opinion, not a fact!

You could try but I don't think you'd have a good case at all! Poles in the way, plus the Terrace is at a better angle and heightened position to get a better view of games in the park! I think we'll agree to disagree but in my opinion and I attend games everytime they are on there, there is no better place to watch a game than from that hill! Around the middle, medium to back high up - you'll struggle to watch a game from a better position in the country not a mind debate about other parts of that stadium itself

Do you not realise that the south facing terrace means that there is sun in your eyes for an afternoon match? Or do you hold the programme as a sunshield likem everyone else?

but sure the stand has poles in your way and isn't angled well to get a proper view, and tis not often that the sun is in your eyes with our weather now is it? And I'm on about days in wind and rain I'd still watch a match from up there cause I honestly believe that the viewpoint from the stand is brutal!

Id rather the terrace myself(provided Im not behind a tall fella) than the stand in Killarney. Those seats in Killarney would break you up,after watching 2 games sitting down there you would know about it.
