This win will reverberate around this town for a long time to come I was lucky enough to be there last night I’d strongly recommend that you go and watch this game back on Gaago or where ever you can see it you’ll enjoy it no end and you’ll get a sense of how close and exciting it was throughout There were Kerry Fingerprints all over that win on the field and many more “ sons of Kerry “ on the extended panel Kieran McGeeney cousin Johnny McGeeney is manager several Kerry natives in the management staff Kevin Moriarty Blennerville and a Quane man from Ballybunion The Tarbert native Joan Henshey is county chairman and hugely supportive of this team . We’ve all heard that when Munster beat the All Blacks in Thomond Park we’ll over 100,000 claim to have been there despite a capacity at the time of closer to 10,000 last nights game had a crowd of less tha 10 K but as time goes on that will swell to astronomical proportions

Meath are heading for Tailteann cup now... unless they make the Leinster Final of course. That's because Clare beat Cork 0-14 to 0-13.

Not to be presumptuous but assuming that Clare beat Limerick and we beat Tipperary, will the Munster final be in Ennis?

An long overdue big championship win for Clare. Have been close in the last few years and a great opportunity for them to make a Munster final.

Can anyone see the Rossies stunning the newly crowned league champions? I think Mayo are a different animal this year, however in saying that, if we came up against them, I still would have no fear. I think this is tailor made for an ambush. New York too may really fancy their chance against Leitrim. Is their many Kerry lads with New York and London this year, Strand Road's Gavin O'Brien is a great addition to NY, it will be interesting to see how he fairs with them. Haha, the bookies gave generous odds on the upset.. drinks on you tonight Boylesports

I honestly that Cork will go further than Clare in the championship and Mayo will go further than the Rossies. I think both Cork and Mayo might be better off on this route. The only problem for Cork is if both Meath and Cavan reached provincial finals they would be eliminated. I also think Mayo losing is a good result for us too as it might keep them away from us till a final. Why is that Mick? There is a 1 in 4 chance they will be in our group. Also there is no reason we can't meet them in a knockout game after the group stages.

I would I visage that the NY/Sligo Connaught semi final will be played in Ireland which might weaken NY as a few of their players probably might be afraid to come back home so quick as they might be regused entry back to the U.S. again. Many on holiday visas. Hope I'm wrong.. Regardless of result there will be at least one Kerryman involved in a Connaught final. Pat Spillane Jnr or Gavin Ó Brien and Rob Wharton and the Kerry sons Mikey and Shane Brosnan. Joe Biden is in town this week. I'm sure a word in his ear will see the immigration folks wave any New Your footballer back in after travelling for the game.

After winning the league last weekend, it was never going to be easy for Mayo to reach those heights again today, with the safety net in the back of their mind, I don’t think they are to bothered with todays loss.
Rest and regroup while others battle on to win a provincial title, come back recharged, 3 games to play and potentially land in a semi final.
I do think we are going to see the end of the provincials.

Has this not shown a major flaw in this championship?
Mayo are in a better position now having lost.
They have less games now to win Sam.
Surely you can't be rewarded for losing ?

Assuming Clare beat Limerick would the Munster final b held in limerick? Remember 1997 final against Clare being played there and that cracking pa laide goal.. I had a great view of it that day.. Or would it be held in Ennis.

The last 2 weekends have shown they have major flaws. What will they learn from A Vs B games as opposed to playing Galway in Salthill in 2 weeks time.

The championship is strange and sort of silly. Mayo could lose two more games in the group stage and still win an all ireland. Also it suits the strongest teams up to quarter final. Finally yes Mayo a d possibly even Cork are better off going outside the provincial route! Imagine losing 3 games and winning Sam.. That's absolutely daft isint it.

It’s different to the super 8s in that 3 teams qualify out of the groups this years as opposed to 2 in the Super 8s. A team could easily qualify out of the group with 2 losses. Unlikely that they would go on and win the AI however but certainly possible.

The rest might do them good and the group and with 3 teams to qualify would you not think Mayo will def be in last 12 and then the real competition starts. I still think they will go further than the Rossies. To write off Mayo on today's game is crazy. When Mayo were at their pomp in 2016 and 2017 they did nt win Connaught either. Pomp - Mayo?

Or would it be held in Ennis. To the best of my knowledge Munster Football Finals are based on the gentleman's agreement of rotating home and away. The only exceptions are finals that include Clare and/or Waterford where the venue is neutral In our case should Kerry beat Tipperary, the Final will be on in Limerick no matter what. A pity for Clare should they progress to the final.

In my honest opinion only 4 teams can win 'SAM' this year. Dublin,Kerry,Galway and Tyrone. Forwards win matches and Mayo have none capable of really hurting a team.
