"Cork GAA has confirmed that Cork Senior Football manager Keith Ricken has stepped down from the role for the foreseeable future due to health reasons. Interim manager John Cleary will fill the role in his absence. We wish Keith a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the sideline."
I and I'm sure everyone else here hopes that Keith recovers quickly.
Some things are more important than a game. I've admired his passion and his great interviews while being the u20s manager

Puts the whole Pairc Ui Rinn shenanigans in perspective for sure. Wishing him the best of luck in whatever he's facing.

Don't forget the Tea and Toast, Keith. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I can't remember if I put this on this forum before or not, but personally, as someone involved with underage teams and players I found this most refreshing and entertaining. It's only a game.

Poor guy, I hope he will be ok, and wish him a speedy recovery, he seems very affable with that Cork wit, very earthed with no allusions of grandeur nor one bit egocentric, he's had it tough as their Cork coach. He seems very genuine. Just hope the poor man will be OK and will be back again and get the support of his family, all those around him and from us over here across the county bounds.

I wish Keith a speedy recovery to full health, a sound individual from my few meeting with him, great man for looking after the young people passing through the CIT in Cork.

Good wishes to him.
John Cleary will have his chance for now, which should be interesting as there was often talk of him taking the role in the past.

Good wishes to him. John Cleary will have his chance for now, which should be interesting as there was often talk of him taking the role in the past. Should the expected happen and Kerry win, I think it would be extremely harsh to judge Cleary on it. He does not have much time to evaluate and set up the panel. There was a pile of deadwood in the Cork panel and it would naturally take a number of years for Keith (initially) to set a new course for Cork football. Had Keith not temporarily stood down, I wouldn't have thought any less if Cork were beaten convincingly. The best thing for Cleary is to ignore that PURornowhere rubbish and focus the team on performing well for Keith. That could be worth an additional few points in the final result.
