I just looked to see who was reffing said game. I had heard the red card was harsh all right. Poor result for listry. What kind of team have skellig rangers ? Are Stephen o Sullivan Kevin Martin and dashy hickey still playing?? Beaufort will the team that will win this competition. Na gaeil next best.

Still asking the question. What have Ballydonoghue done at senior level in county competitions to warrant the massive hype.
Nothing against the players or club. Just feel the hype machine is out of control.
Heard from people at the game that Churchill played with huge hunger, pace and power and won despite having a guy sent off after 40 mins.

Some notable scalps taken in competition yesterday. Looks safe to say that the 2018 format is a winner with fierce contests and massive competition to come out on top.

Well I presume the hype comes from having a couple of senior players involved in the team. Also having won a couple of North kerry championships one would think they are capable of getting a run in a competition like this. Everyone is aware they haven't done much at county level but with the players they have they should be very competitive at this level. However Churchill beat them last year and the same this year. All is not lost for them yet though.

Na Gaeil 2-19 Listowel 1-7 FT Ne Gaeil 2-7 Listowel 1-5 HT As one-sided as it sounds. Early goals by Diarmuid O'Connor and Jack Barry put the Tralee side in control and there was only ever going to be one winner. Fortuitous goal for Emmets before the break gave some hope but really they were outclassed from the off. Darragh Carmody picked up what looked like a hamstring injury on the stroke of halftime - it was about the only thing that didn't go right for the winners, who look very strong all over the pitch. Second half was a mere procession. That was a very bad outcome for listowel I find it startling how decently sized urban area like listowel is struggling Killorglin is another example

Ballydonoghue being beaten by a Division 5 team the big surprise but given the same team beat them last year maybe we shouldnt be too surprised. St Senans beating Annascaul so comfortably also a surprise - St Senans also hammered Keel the week before and barely lost to Crokes B so they must be doing something right.
A Fossa win at home to Foilmore can see them through. Likewise Churchill against Skellig although they will be without their best player. St Senans at home to Beaufort - hard to see past an away win here. Na Gaeil should be much too strong for Finuge so another away win here.
Group winners at this stage you would have to fancy Fossa, Skellig, Beaufort and Na Gaeil.

Any tough teak defenders on view in the matches over the week end? That's in all grades.

I'd have a slight reservation about beaufort considering they must travel mountcoal Winner of group 2 will come down to skellig v ballydonoghue in last round and I fancy ballydonoghue to prove a lot of doubters wrong

They cant be classified as doubters for expecting too much from a team

I can’t see how people were writing Churchill off against ballydonahue. Ballydonahue lost the opening 2 rounds of the county league and Churchill are unbeaten this year beating the likes of the Mitchell’s and Valentina who had Brendan o Sullivan. They also see the return of Mikey Brennan who was a Kerry minor and u21. Churchill were far the better team from start to finish and never went behind in the game. They lost one of the star players with 20 mins to go and still managed to carve out a victory. I wouldn’t write this side off just yet and would fancy them to push for a semi final spot

I think that Foilmore and Fossa is the game of the round and it’s impossible to predict a winner in this one

The winners of those 4 games put themselves in the driving seat to make the knockouts... Likewise the losers of the other 4 games would be almost certain to finish bottom.

It can't be very exciting for a junior full/corner back to see DC coming into the fullforward.

Churchill 1-17 skellig Rangers 3-11 An amazing game of football but Churchill will feel they let this game fall through there hands conceding 2 late goals however they brought the game to a drew with a last kick of the game. Micheal o Brian man of the match scoring 10 points. Skellig were very strong through the middle giving some top class performances. Skellig now face ballydonahue at home while Churchill face listry away. Very tough one to call and it looks like it will come down to point difference

So how teams will be separated if they finish level on points in the group, taken from this weeks Kerrys Eye
1) the winner of the head the head meeting between the sides will decide 2) in the event of sides drawing in the group stages or if three teams finish level on top then its scoring difference that decides 3)If teams cannot still be separated, its scores for that will count, whoever has scored the most in their three games 4)If still locked, which would be very unlikely its goals for 5)Finally a play off if still not separated which my come into the equation in the Junior Championship where a team gives a walkover and scoring difference cannot be used.

Finuge vs Na Gaeil abandoned as two Finuge players collided resulting in serious injury.
Sides tied at 0-4 each just before half time.
Dreadful to hear.
