In an effort to lighten the mood as we approach (cliche alert) the business end of the championship, I hope that you will join in this thread in the spirit in which it's meant.
RTE have cancelled the Voice and are now going to have Ireland's version of Strictly Come Dancing. Please nominate 4 GAA players/ex-players/managers/mentors/'personalities' whom you 'd like to see taking part and say why.
In order to bring some variety to proceedings, those who have previously participated in reality TV (Celebrity Bainisteoir, Ireland's Fittest Family, Cooking programmes etc etc ) or who are currently on the Sunday Game/Sky Sports panel are not eligible. Commentators are eligible.
Here are my 4,
1. Jim McGuinness (Donegal) It would be fun to see him devise a defensive strategy over the weeks trying to ensure that he is never in the dance-off to avoid elimination.
2. Tom Carr (Dublin)To see evidence of the sparking personality that must be hiding behind his riveting commentaries.
3. Mary Kennedy. (Dublin)The rightful hostess of Up for The Match.
4. Briege Corkery. (Cork) She has more All Ireland medals than many counties and should be competitive.

God be good to Paidí but he'd be the obvious candidate having gone to see Saturday Night Fever as a cure for insomnia on the eve of an All Ireland. 'Look at Travolta himself' was all Dwyer had to say as the Ard Rí returned to his seat from communion the following morning.

I've a few to add here. A lot of nimble footwork being displayed by GAA folk.
1. David Gough for being so neutral in the semi-final. Finely balanced at all times, just what you need in a dancer. 2. Patrick O'Sullivan our Co.Board Chairman. Longest 'waltz away from a microphone by the Chairman of a winning County' ever seen in the history of the GAA. 3. The Ladies GAA Executive who decided that Hawkeye would be surplus to requirements.Backwards and in high heels isn't in it. 4. The Clare Senior Hurling Panel. Their performance in the Siege of Sixmilebridge was a joy to behold. Will they be able for the Walls of Limerick by next summer? 5. The Tipperary forward line. A Six Hand Reel of wonderous beauty and efficiency on All Ireland Day.

Now I realise what Lee and Diarmuid were auditioning for the last day out. It takes two to tango!
