It would be interesting to understand why stacks are playing in the B competition. I would have anticipated they are an A club. Could someone provide the backdrop to this.

Stacks played in Div 2 of the U-14 county league this year for the first time in a number of years. My understanding is that this group were very considered fairly weak from matches played at U-8, U-10 & U-12, having been regularly beaten in very one-sided encounters. However they improved this year with the addition of a couple of players and lost only one game in the league to Rathmore, who they then beat by 2 points in the Div 2 final in a game that could've gone either way. Having been at the Feile games this year, it seemed a strange decision to have Stacks in the B competition, given that Na Gaeil (Div 2) competed in the A competition. As far as I'm aware all Div 1 clubs are entered in the A competition and the Div 2 clubs are given the option to enter the A or B competition.

I am more confused tonight. Stacks won the b feile and the proceeded to win the all Ireland division 1 feile. It strikes me as odd that they played on the Kerry b feile and then got to play in all Ireland doc 1 feile. Could anyone clarify?

The feile has become a bit of a joke- there are about 6 or 7 different ones with all manner of teams showing up.
I know people will say it's about participation and it is- everyone can participate in their county feile- I just think the new setup had diluted what used to be a great tournament

Stacks competed in the B feile as there was a change in format for this year.
"The format for the national competition will be different to that in 2014. In boys football, there are 76 confirmed host clubs. As there are 3 host Counties, there are 29 visiting Counties, plus 10 overseas teams. Therefore each visiting County is being asked to identify two teams to participate in Leinster, with a small number of Counties asked to identify three, as below.
Visiting Teams
Visiting teams will be nominated as follows:
Counties that participated in Division One of Féile Peil na nÓg 2014 will nominate the winners and runners up of their internal Féile na nÓg “B” competition. This applies to the following counties: Cork, Derry, Down, Galway, Kerry, Kildare and Tyrone. Due to the make-up of the internal Féile na nÓg competitions, Dublin are requested to nominate the winners and runners up of their Féile “C” competition.
The following counties will nominate the winners of their internal “A” and “B” Féile na nÓg competitions: Tipperary, Limerick, Armagh, Antrim, Donegal, Meath, Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Monaghan, Longford, Cavan, Louth, Fermanagh, Waterford, Clare, Kilkenny, Mayo, Leitrim, Sligo, Roscommon
The following overseas entries will continue to nominate their representatives as heretofore: New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia, South London, North London, Gloustershire, Lancashire, Warwickshire, Yorkshire, Scotland and Hertfordshire. The following counties will be invited to nominate a third club from their Féile “C” competition or equivalent standard: Dublin, Cork, Galway, Mayo, Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo. A waiting list will be created for any further vacancies that may arise and counties will be advised at the earliest opportunity if vacancies occur."
As Stacks beat St Pats in the Kerry B Feile, both teams qualified, with Listowel Emmets added afterwards due to a vacancy.
Crokes, as Kerry A Feile winners, competed in a different tournament in another change from last years format.
"Regional Féile na nÓg Tournaments
The Regional Féile competitions run over the Féile weekends in 2014 were very well received by clubs who attended. It is planned that a number of Regional Féile competitions will be held again in 2015 over the Féile weekends. An additional feature for 2015 will be the hosting of Regional Féile competitions for Féile Peil “A” winners from Derry, Down, Dublin, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kildare and Galway."
Crokes won their shield final v Leixlip on Sat in Kildare. The Feile na nOg 2015 web page has all results, but nothing yet from the regional tournaments for the A teams.

I am more confused tonight. Stacks won the b feile and the proceeded to win the all Ireland division 1 feile. It strikes me as odd that they played on the Kerry b feile and then got to play in all Ireland doc 1 feile. Could anyone clarify? Counties that played in Div 1 of Feile in 2014 had to send their Feile B winners and runners-up this year. This included Kerry, Cork, Dublin, Kildare, Galway, and a few of the Ulster teams. Last year they also introduced Regional Feile competitions as well as the National Feile so that more teams could play Feile outside their county. So county Feile runners up and semifinalists got to play in one of about six Regional Feiles. This year they had Regional Feile's again, and one of these was all the Div 1 Feile A winners, held in Newbridge which included Dr Crokes and I guess Laune Rangers, Nemo Rangers, last year's winners Naas, Whitehall and Sylvester's from Dublin. This was won by Douglas from Cork. Crokes won the Shield. So Stacks won the Div 1 National Feile, while Douglas won the Regional 'Elite' Feile. Naturally both clubs claim to be All-Ireland Feile champions.

Anyone at any of the information nights in relation to Feile Peil 2016. Will the elite teams be playing next year or will it be like last year and mostly made up of B winners and the elite winners playing in regional feile competitions elsewhere
