From his success with Tipperary to what he has done now with Roscommon says it all. I have little doubt he will end up managing someone to silverware before too long. Roscommon could have a big say in Connaught this year, and look a good outside bet at 3/1.
He was very successful with Tipperary, bringing them from Div 4 to Div 2, until it petered out with them. He probably stayed a year too long. On top of his success at club level
Was he ever incharge of any Kerry team?

Yes, was in charge of the u21s in 2001 if I remember rightly when they lost to cork down in the pairc on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Game was close but there was reports afterwards that the setup was a shambles. Eoin brosnan was midfield that day I think.

Kerry were beaten a point but think we scored 1-2 in final couple of minutes to make it an exciting finish; we had future senior stars on show that day- Marc, Sean Ban, Aidan O'Mahony, Eoin Brosnan.

He has gotten some ridiculous stick from people here in the past, but keeps proving them wrong! He's done great work in Tipp and Roscommon, as a cog in the wheel. It would be great to Roscommon make a break through this year (Connaught title/AI semi).

Great progress by John in Roscommon. Fair play to him and the Rossies
However it should be noted that he had some good young talent coming through when he went up there. Still an achievement to have moulded them into a Division One team as quick as he has. Big opportunities for them this summer. Hopefully it goes well for them. They bring big support when they get a bit of a run going. Have a favourable draw too

The way connacht is working out they have a great chance of getting to the final where they should meet mayo a decent showing there would do his reputation no harm although if memory serves me right last time they played mayo they went ultra defensive

A serious guy, retired a young man, he will continue to achieve, came in under the radar, living outside Kerry like him I can identify with his success, and nom I couldn't manage a p up in a brewery, but he can.
The 'secret' if there is one, is that those of us outside the county see more of the Kerry difference that those within. Simple, really. I have looked at life from both sides, no bull* Tómas Crean, we're poles apart! Up North Kerry for thinking, down South for dancing, Tralee for, ah The Rose.

It's all about the Championship and Evans hasn't been able to crack that as yet.

It's all about the Championship and Evans hasn't been able to crack that as yet. You cant really argue that he has had the players to crack the championship to date.

Under John Evans, players seem to reach their potential and play together as a team. Who wouldn't want to play for him.

Evans was coaching Laune Rangers when they won the All-Ireland club title, is that right?
