i know this question will cause arguments, but is it time to cut lose the club player and the county player and see them as different animals?
I'm basing this question in reponce to a discussion already developing on the county leagues thread in relation to the situation in div 3 of the county league as regard renards remaining games.
are the county player and visa versa the club player holding each other back waiting for each other. Is the club system holding the county scene back in relation to developing a more intensive al-ireland championship in order to facilitate the club scene, and are the club players being held back in developing a more intensive club scene because of the fact county players are unavailable?
is it time to play the county leagues soley without the county players and maybe play two rounds to give the club player plenty of games and to try and compensate for the county players loss,ie give clubs more of chance to gain the adequate points.?
is it time to play district leagues and district championships without the county players?
the above suggestions would lead to a very concise club sence being developed throught out the season to accommodate the club scene with the co. club championships being played in windows of time depending on how the county team were going.
would both sets of players, club and county gain from this?

copied from other thread....
I don't know the exact situation around renard and why their games have been postponed but I'm sure most of the weekends are due to Killian Young being on the Kerry team (and latterly being on the Sth Kerry team along with John Sugrue). Now of course this isn't an issue for the other clubs in div 3 as they haven't any players on the Kery team. In fact there's very few teams in div 2 who have players on the Kerry team. You can therefore understand the huge importance to a team like Renard in having their best player available for games that will probably decide whether they stay in div3 next season or result in Killian Young being the only Kerry player to play div4 next season. Instead of having a go at enard maybe it's up to the county board to come up with a more sensible schedule. Perhaps play the county league games earlier in the year and fill in the gaps in the summer with local divisional games. I don't know but if a club works hard to develop and bring on young players and progress up the divisions only to be told they then have to play without their star players it seems slightly unfair.
