I'd like to go back to the logic that you previously applied when saying that Crokes were unlucky to meet a good Cross team- but flip that around and you could say that they were lucky to come into a Munster championship where Nemo (or any other Cork team) have been nowhere near the force they were previously. Crokes had a fairly easy field in Munster while still giving up a title to Nemo and almost blowing one against Cratloe- they are and were a good team but your suggestion that they would have won well yesterday, etc is not really backed up by anything- first tough game that they faced, they usually lost. Crokes are 8/13 on to win this year's championship. Stacks are 6/1. Yes 6/1. On that basis a 4-6 point handicap in Crokes favour is about where the bookies would pitch a match up. Crokes are far ahead of the Stacks in every department despite Stacks improvement in 2014. Bookies odds are as good a metric as any other. If Paddy Power is telling us that Crokes are far superior then who am I to disagree.Money talks and bullshet walks and all of that.... You are completely diverging away from the original point, by accident or otherwise?! Stacks won the 2014 KCC, because they were the best club side in the county. People need to stop talking about "if Crokes" and all this other bs. Give Stacks their due credit. To continue with the "Crokes took their foot " and "if Crokes hadn't lost early..." is the biggest load of hypocrisy! Unless of course we were to acknowledge that "Dublin took their foot of the gas", "If Ger Brennan wasn't injured" or "if Donegal hadn't beaten Dublin for Kerry...".

Lads this thread has sfa to do with a team from Killarney. It's about this years club all ireland series and the teams that represented Kerry in it. Well done to all three who represented themselves and Kerry with great dignity

That has no relevance to the previous discussion- I have no doubt that Crokes are favourites and rightly so. I took issue with you saying that Crokes would have won the AI this year as it was an easy field- I pointed out that Crokes had it easy in Munster and you have ignored that. When Crokes dont win- just show a little class

I believe Crokes would have easily beaten that Slaughtneil team at the weekend. I am entitled to my opinion thankfully. Slaughtneil are 4/1 to win the final in 3 weeks time which shows how the Irish public in general rate them. 4/1 in a two horse race is a turkey shoot. They are very poor in comparison to what had come out of Ulster in recent years. There is ltitle resistance to that opinion inside or outside Ulster. Can you remember any Ulster team being 4/1 in any big game of the last decade?
Crokes took the foot off the gas last year as they felt they would never reach Everest. I am criticising Crokes for not persisting as success often comes when least expected. stacks are still miles behind.

I was speaking to a Strand Road stalwart the week after Colms cruciate injury. I didn't detect the same dejection that I was feeling. With a twinkle in his eye he said that the race was wide open for the championship now and Strand Road had a good chance! He was animated. I think time will show that Stacks blew their chance. www.paddypower.com/bet/gaa-sports/gaa-football/kerry-senior-football-cship

They won the county championship for the first time in ~30 years!!!! You must think this AL Ireland club championship is something that's easily won? And if Stacks "blew their chance" than surely your own club/district blew their chance along with every other club and district in the county?!!!! Stacks did pretty damn well. Our success at intercounty level last year has created alot of over confidence in this forum. Stark contrast to the pessimism around here this time last year!

Not sure Crokes have ever found gas easy to come by once the semis and final appeared. Only in the drawn game with Cross in 06, I think, were Crokes a little unlucky with Oisin Mcs questionable equalizer. All other games in the last decade in last four or final they have been beaten fairly and justly from my recollection. I think Stacks deserve the credit for their achievements this year and they are just county and provincial Champions. Reckoning Crokes would have won easily is more theoretical than fact based from my viewpoint. Bottom line Legion put them out of the Championship for all their squad might. I think you're harsh on Slaughtneil. They turned over a five point deficit and lost a key man with Star's bulldozer. Also Stacks are a decent second half team. They also took down Omagh who took down Cross, albeit a regressing Cross team. While I think Corofin's form line is definitely stronger I don't foresee any turkey shoot. The Derry boys are fair sticky. Of course you're entitled to your opinion, the differing views as well the common ground make the forum most enjoyable

Looking at the odds for the championship in Kerry it is clear that there is a lot of dead wood drifting in the championship. You would wonder what the likes of Ardfert have to gain by adding to this drift wood. www.paddypower.com/bet/gaa-sports/gaa-football/kerry-senior-football-cship. Crokes are sill the team to beat in Kerry while Stacks are probably the best of the leading pack of moderate teams.

Main headline in the front of the Kerryman today was about Ardfert walking out of the post match meal in Croke Park because a few of the players children were not allowed into the meal by Croke Park stewards. Its a pity that happened and also a pity that the paper decided to focus on this rather than the fact that Ardfert and Brosna won All Ireland titles last weekend.

A belated congratulations to Brosna & Ardfert...thoroughly deserved victories and commiserations to Austin Stacks who, despite some of the nonsense written on here, were not too far away from being in an All-Ireland Club Final which in itself, would have been a fantastic achievement (and no, I'm not a Rockie either). While they can certainly look at some doubtful calls by the Referee, overall Slaughneil were the better side I thought. It was a long road for Stacks from getting hammered by Crokes in the 2013 County Final to the edge of an All-Ireland Final in Feb. 2015. The teams and indeed supporters from each of the Kerry clubs last weekend did themselves and their county proud. Hopefully, we'll have one or two more All-Ireland titles in the bag by the end of the year.

On the day Claude Criquielion has died it is probably important to remember how sports stars can unite countries, nations and counties. A bitter debate above about Crokes v the rest of the county, whereas the focus should be on the three teams that did us very proud. Brosna and Ardfert as All Ireland champions and Stacks came within a kick of reaching the final. Football in Kerry is on a high and is probably healthier now than it was 5 years ago. Hurling in Kerry is also improving and promotion for the Kerry hurlers is still a possibility despite drawing with Derry last Sunday.

To be fair to the Croke Park stewards (of which I am one), the numbers allocated passes for team meals, tea passes (valued higher than gold) and seats in the subs bench are generally decided by the club or county committee involved. I don't know anything about the specifics in this case as firstly I wasn't there and secondly I'm stationed elsewhere. It is an awful pity that some of the gloss is taken off such a great achievement for what was probably just a small oversight on the part of someone who was very busy planning for the momentous journey to Croke Park.

This is true, they are only doing their jobs. You'd be surprised what certain people don't respect the process of needing a pass of some sorts to enter the field at such games. I witnessed a well known local media figure give a steward a right going over (f-in g this and that) all because he wanted to get onto the field and presumably sit on the bench for the 2nd half whilst reporting on the game!

Is capacity tied to health and safety? Could be an issue as I doubt someone did this just to be an a*se

(Sorry to the kiddies, I couldn't resist.)Very good I suppose if they couldnt get the usual 40 on the sideline they had to try to accomodate them somewhere . In fairness to croke park, they have to draw the line somewhere in relation to safety etc. There was 3 other clubs in croke park on Saturday & I'd imagine some of their players kids / families were also refused entry so did they walk out too? Obviously an admim oversight by someone in Ardfert so they should have sucked it up, not made a song & dance about it, enjoyed the win & moved on.

kerryman.newspaperdirect.com/epaper/viewer.aspxthere is always some little upstart who cant handle his/her bit of power. I'll always remember that incident at the presentation of the cup in 1997. Liam Hassett wanted his brother Mike to lift the cup with him. It would have been fitting and appropriate but the steward prevented it in a pathetic little demonstration of his bit of power

Jesus lads I sense a bit of hostility here perhaps even a bit of jealousy!! I say fair play to ardfert they represent themselves their parish an their county with absolute pride an passion an can play plenty of ball with it!! The three times they have been out of the county every single time they have delivered the goods not lik I do recall annascaul in 07/08 falling on their arses!! And gettin back to the dead wood comment as I have said here before if ardfert wer to concentrate solely on football they would b fine rattle a shot of teams!! They did get to club final in 2009 an got to co championship quater final 07 losing to eventual winners feale rangers!! Also this dead wood u talk about in my opinion only stacks crokes kor south an mid kerry if they pull 2gether are the only teams good enough to win the championship!! Fair enough u cud say legion pulled off a scalp of crokes last year but so did rathmore both beaten after rathmore comfortably enough b stacks legion by dingle who stacks made light work of every dog has it's day an basically what I'm gettin at none of the rest in my book are good enough neither will do anything in championship

Annascaul did not "fall on their arses". They won Munster and lost by a single point to Moycullen in the SF and this included a missed 20 yard free at the end to level it. Moycullen went on to win the final comfortably by six points... in fact the whole way through from Galway, Moycullen won every match by six or more points --- except the game against Annascaul. Anyway moving on, I said nothing about "dead wood" and I have nothing but the height of respect for what Ardfert achieve year-in-year out. I don't know why you are gone so much on the offensive over a little joke.

And was a combination of comments that made me say this isn't right!!Warrenpoint the crowd ardfert played wer averaging 1-19 a game destroyed everything that came in front of them an ardfert turned them over!! Kerry teams should b winning this more often we obv have the strongest intermediate grade in the country with most wins wen u come out of kerry ur 9 times out of 10 out of munster

Some found a lighter side to the walk out story AFTER Ardfert had been given praise here. There has been no bitterness or jealously shown here towards Ardfert, quite the opposite actually, and they deserve all the praise. ...But there has been a bit of gloating floating about with one poster mocking another Kerry club's attempts of success outside of the county, a shame some people can't handle success! lol
