Ok, i know its early days yet and i dont want to be putting pressure on the lad and all, and of course, there will be only 1 pony, but the question is, is Killian Young as good as replacement for Seamus Moynihan as we could ever wish for?
This was mentioned in one or 2 papers today. I certainly think he is going in the right direction anyway and if he keeps up the performances of this year, then he could reach the hights of the legend that retired last year.
thoughts please.

Quite a nice quote in the examiner from him “To be honest I was disappointed with my performance in the final. I think Conor McCarthy picked up a lot of ball.’’
Typical Kerryman, a bit like saying, "Sure I was fierce lucky he didn't score about 2-6 off me!"

Haha, twas a great quote alright, but also typical of a good footballer, always critical of himself, always striving to better himself. He'll get better and that's a scary prospect for opponents to come. I don't know if he'll ever be in Pony's league, but by jesus, he'll run him close!

Jack O'Shea is on record from last year as saying Killian Young will be centre back for Kerry for the next 10 years. High praise indeed

Killian Young is the new Killian Young simple as that. He's had a fantastic year. No need for comparisons.

I agree animal. Also think that killian is very much a wing man and is more suited to driving forward,, Tons of talent coming through be one or two more really good backs will be introduced next year.

he's played full back and center back for south kerry, in a few years i reckon he'll be center back for the county, great reader of the game and fantastic passer.how many goals did he set up this year?gave the ball in against dublin and monaghan for the goals in the championship anyway.

Piggy I will hold off on who I think you will see very soon at center or full back for the moment but I really think Killian is much more suited to the wing. He can set up the forward and still get back to cover

Seamus Moynihan was Seamus Moynihan and comparing Killian Young to him at this stage is unfair on Killian. Fantastic season by Killian though. He will be a regular in the green & gold for 10 years to come. What a day sunday was for the Renard club. Killian picking up the clubs first All- Ireland medal and John Sugure training the team to glory.

its a great achievement for any 20year old lads from any club. Killian has had a huge year and will only get better no doubt... But there is an abundance of talent coming through and the one thing that the past two KY Managers have done was to open up the panel. Great for small clubs all over Kerry....

Should be exciting so. There's the core of a brilliant team there for a few years to come.
Marc Reidy Aidan O'Mahony Killian Young Scanlon Declan Star Gooch Sean Bán Darren Sull.
Thats just of whos been in or around starting this year, all have a good 4/5 years ahead if them.

Think Sheehan had already proven his worth.. He will only continue to improve his own game. The amount of football in Kerry at underage up to u-21 is unreal. The development of the game that is going in to underage football around the country is huge. But when you have a county like Kerry who is know to be the kingpins. Steeped in football, heros all over the place and managers who are not afraid to take a risk ie.. reidy and young then its a win win for Kerry..

Class player no doubt...but you need incredible pace and mobility to play at the top level

I agree which is why I feel he would be better suited to the 14 spot at the moment.

I agree which is why I feel he would be better suited to the 14 spot at the moment. i agree i have seen him play some of his best games at no. 14, he has the strength for any full back and in a couple of years will be fighting haard for the no.14
