all jokes aside i wouldnt swap many of the kerry backs for the cork ones.the likes of o mahony, the two o se,tom sullivan are proven players for the past five years and have bucket loads of all star medals.both killian and reidy will be two of the best defenders around in three or four years aswell.Canty is the only back they have that i would like to see in our team.

Piggy, if you don't want to change your six backs, you could put Canty in midfield.

i cant see anybody on that cork team that would improve kerry. going out on a limb, maybe only spillane and murphy, but while i rate spillane, i will never ever rate murphy as a player.

Canty would get on any team in the country. he played admirably last weekend when every ball going in was right in front of gooch and star. I would also have Spillane, Murphy and donnacha o connor on the kerry team with Masters, cussen and perhaps mcmahon on the panel

Needs to toughen up. Surprised you left Lynch out completely Walter.

Cork are better than they looked. They blew Meath away.
They peaked against meath.
Its very hard to win a final at the first attempt......... especially when its against kerry.
Does anyone think that Kerry were keeping their big performance for the final and just doing enough against monaghan and dublin. Keith Barr suggested that this might be the case but i dont buy it.

I admire Ger Spillane but he will take a long time to get over last sundays setback.

Anyway to go back to the Cork and Kerry conbination, I'll put my thinking cap on and try to get a 1-15 for ye. Not based solely on last weekend I might add!

1. Quirke (nightmare last weekend, but more solid up to then) 2. Michael Shields 3. Graham Canty 4. Marc Ó Sé 5. Tomás Ó Sé 6. Ger Spillane 7. Eoin Cadogan 8. Darragh Ó Sé 9. Pearse O’ Neill 10. Paul Galvin 11. Kieran Donaghy 12. Kevin McMahon/Declan O' Sullivan 13. Colm Cooper 14. Daniel Goulding 15. Donnacha O’ Connor/Bryan Sheehan I thought I’d make a few controversial decisions so ye have something to discuss!

michael cussens has a lot of potential in him,he is quick enough between the ears with tha ball at hand,i think cork should be looking to make a midfielder out of him.
with brian mc guigan injured there is no other player out there i'd like to see playing for kerry,i'm very happy with the 20 lads that played for kerry last sunday, tom sullivan and aidan o mahoney are proven all-ireland winning standard footballers,i wouldnt swap them for canty/shields or spillane in a million years.
i dont think any of the cork players listed above would make the kerry team any stronger.
ps.tom sullivan has been a gem in the kerry full back line now for a long time on all-ireland final day,a truely class act.

Regarding kerry saving their performances til the final...thats rubbish. Anyone who plays the game knows that you give it your all every week. If Keith Barr reckons that kerry did hold back, it might explain why the dubs won only 1 AI in his years on the team.

but lads, honestly, based on last sundays game, who would improve that kerry team? where would they fit in? i personally would find it hard to get rid of any kerry players to fit in a cork player. granted, every single cork player let themselves down last week, but remember, they have only beaten kerry twice in the last 8 years, and both times they did, we hammered them in the semi finals. I forgot Canty, but like murphy, everytime i have seen him play in the games the matters, he has not impressed me. None of the cork forwards would be better that the current Kerry 6. would you swap masters for gooch? cussen for star? not a chance. none of their half forward line would make it for definate. in the big games over the past few years, we have beaten cork by 10, 6, 15 and 13 points. so how anybody can say that 7 or 8 cork players would make up a starting 15 in a kerry/cork combo, really puzzles me.
