1. Moynihan 2. Fitz 3. Dara 4. Gooch
5. Probably a few candidates here and can't argue with Tomas but will put Mike McCarthey to be different. Three allstars I think.

Same as above probably. I haven't seen enough of Maurice Fitzgerald but people are obviously choosing him for a reason. Moynihan is the best defender I've probably ever seen.

Hard from your(north kerry) perspective Joan. I do think he's a great player alright though.

Maurice Fitz Dara O'Sé Pony Gooch Tom Sullivan
To explain re Tom Sullivan........ curbed Michael donnellan in 2000.....in both games. Did the same to Mortimor in 2006. Always the one we turn to to do the unpopular job and does it. Now at fullback when the need arises.

Maurice Fitzgerald Seamus Moynihan Darragh O'Se Tomas O'Se Mike McCarthy
The top 2 would make it onto a Kerry top 15 of all time and Darragh wouldn't be far behind. It'd be hard to dislodge Mick O'Connell and Jack O'Shea though (tough competition in fairness!). The main reason I have ruled players like Colm Cooper, Marc O'Se, Aidan O'Mahony and Paul Galvin out of contention is because they've only been around for the latter part of the last 15 years but ask me again in 5 years time and there would probably changes. Liam Flaherty was very close to a spot.

Gooch Maurice Dara Pony Diarmuid Murphy - superkeeper saved our bacon too many times to mention Diarmuid Murphy?? He's only been the number 1 for 3 championship campaigns. Hardly justifies a position in the top 5 kerry players over 15 years.

These 'top whatever' questions are pretty difficult due to the progression of the game, especially in recent years. I'd find it hard to compare the feats of Darragh Ó Sé with those of O'Connell and Jacko. Mainly because I was only a twinkle in my father's eye when O'Connell graced the playgrounds of Ireland (I've only ever witnessed his displays on old black and white footage - too brief for me to give my opinion). Jacko was a star in his day. But I would have to rate Darragh as the best midfielder out of these three for obvious reasons.

Would agree with u 100% here.. daragh has been outstanding for Kerry, played many a game on his own in midfield with very little help.. He has given so many memorable performances... I fear for this team when he retires. He has given great service to his county and hopefully he continues to do so for awhile yet!

Is it long service medals we're handing out or giving our opinions on who have distinguished themselves during the time they've been on the scene
