What do ye make of Mikos latest attempts to poach players from other counties.
Obviously the lessons learned from Fahy and Tompkins in Cork in the late 80s stuck with him.
If he is that good a coach why try this tactic. I dont like it

10 out of10 for the title of this topic.
Its definitly not good when you see the best player from one county moving to another. All of micko's other transfer seemed ok up till this point. Fringe players taken from other counties.

The best thing is Micko says he has never heard of him or spoken to him!! Reminds me of Arsene Wenger when one of his players does something reckless... - 'did'nt see the incident'.

I would persume this is what they are on about.

Tea cup - storm - nobody cares outside of Wicklow and Carlow, neither a county resplendant with top quality players to begin with!!

Think that's what Carlow's issue is, that he was there best player. So in a way he'd be as big a loss to them as say Galvin would be to Kerry.

Micko still has the pull
I doubt ur man would consider moving to Wiclow if Micko wasnt there

poaching players is a no no.I dont car if its Micko. Its wrong. God do we know about it here. Whats been offered to players to leave their county and play for another is shocking. We just lost one of our own lads here a huge name in NY. Price tag for transfer 12 grand. Price to play with your own county jersey??? PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not only all that, but taking the best player of their closest rivals...............
But it's ok, Micko says he "swears on a stack of bibles" he didnt know anything about it.
Hope Wicklow, like all weaker counties, make good progress, but not at the expense of others. Carlow have been putting in alot of effort the past few years.
Incidentally, does anyone think Laois look a more committed & mature side since O'Dwyer left? Maybe their top players now feel free to take on the leadership required...............

I admired Tommy Lyons for turning down the offer of the services of the Gallaghers of Fermanagh a few years ago.

True, they would have been worthy additions the the Dubs setup but he turned them down. A lot of other managers would have jumped at the chance to take them on board.

what hard evidence have ye that micko poached this player or any other player in the past.
Maybe we should be looking at what he has acheived since he vacated the hot seat in kerry in'89 bringing countless joy to thousands of peole in leinster who never would have experienced victory in croker.
