Ah feck.....here's me checking over books and websites all night!!
To be honest, I can't see how it's perverse.....they dug in against Tipperary, beat them, availed of the backdoor, beat Clare, beat Waterford and were in the final.
What were they supposed to do? Tip toe back out after the Waterford game and apologise as they weren't meant to be there?
They are a top eight team, and the top eight teams were always going to be in the quarter finals. After that it's whatever happens.....

It's getting worrying.... few days to the All Ireland, and yer discussing hurling! I was at the hurling in '95. Mightly occasion altogether.

Kerry is probably the answer seeing as theirs was won in 1891. Joxer you're being hard on Waterford, they played the best hurling of any team all year long and if they weren't caught sleeping for the first ten minutes against Limerick who knows? They matched them pretty well after that

falveyb2k, it wasn't my intention to be hard on Waterford but rather to defend Limericks right to have got to the final. Having said that, I wonder with all the talking up of Waterford, will they face the harsh facts. Nobody questions Kilkennys right to be in the final but who did they beat to 'earn' that right...Wexford x 2, Offaly and Galway if memory serves me right. Limerick at least beat real contenders along the way. and no, I'm not for one moment questioning Kilkennys right to be acclaimed as they are...they're a brilliant team but Limericks effort doesn't deserve to be dismissed either.
