As Dara and MFR are bidding for their fifth medal, an incredible achievement, even more so for Dara, starting in midfield for all finals, i wonder how Seamus feels this weekend. As has been pointed out by another thread a feat only matched or bettered by the great Kerry team. Seamus deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as these, could he have hung on for another year, course he could have, but as he said himself in road to Croker, he didn't have to go through the slog in the dark winter nights...
i just wonder how he feels this week, and of course Mike Mac, such a pity we were so crap from 92-97, he could have a few more medals...
course Dara didn't play in 04 or Seamus... anyway, still got medals

I think he came on on the forward 40 and scored a point.
as for what he's thinking, I'd say he's delighted for the friends and team mates he's battled with for so long to be making another final.
Pony has nothing to prove to anyone..other than Liam Hayes.

Seamus Moynihan has a baby and a wife. I'm sure he has no regrets. '92 to '06 is a long innings. Mike McCarthy on the other hand, you'd worry that he might have regrets at retiring at 28. There are 4 Kerrymen starting their first final on Sunday. That has to be a good thing for Kerry football. I'd say in '85 and '86 only one new player started an All-Ireland for Kerry. We've seen some great Kerry minors from '01 to '07 - Gooch, Declan O'Sullivan, Darren O'Sullivan, Bryan Sheehan, Killian Young, Padraig Reidy, Tommy Walsh, Paddy Curran, Barry Walsh and it was important that they all see that with the right attitude and development there is a spot for them on the team so we shouldn't be too worried about older players retiring, it's when young players like Brendan Guiney retire because that's more worrying.

the fact that we have lost 4 of last years defensive set up (pony, mike mac, guiney, eamon fitz) is a credit to the team this year..theres places up for grabs on the panel lads for any half decent defender next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say he's pretty hungover right now along with half the Kingdom.

I'd say he's pretty hungover right now along with half the Kingdom. Wouldn't blame him one bit if he is...he is in good company!
