Prediction League 2007 Final Table

Well done to Joxer. If anyone has any suggestions for improvements for next year just reply to this thread.

One that I was thinking of was instead of awarding 5 and 3 points to the All-Ireland winner and runner up, award 3 points for each team that makes the final and finish the league after the 2nd semi final. This way we would have a clear winner announced before the final.

I suppose if you could give an all-ireland ticket to the winner it would generate more interest/excitement, obviously you'd have to change the points allocated for the final etc.

Thanks Aine. I thought I had won it there before the final...and it got taken away.Smacked of a John Bannon decision....you suspect that maybe, just maybe, he was right on this occasion and saw something you didn't....but still questioned his motives and origins anyway! Now, is the prize All-Ireland final tickets for 2008???

Lads and Lassies, as regards offering a prize of a ticket I'm not in a position to do that. I am only a member of the forum who volunteered to run a prediction league. It was a bit late in the day when the forum reopened earlier in the year so we didn't really have a chance to discuss a prize. Maybe next year we can go looking at getting someone (a pub, website or sports shop in Kerry) to sponsor the league and offer a prize or maybe the admin might offer a ticket based on the proviso that Kerry make the final etc. etc.

Keep posting any suggestions you have.

Other areas of change I was thinking about were . . . not posting fixtures until Wednesday (as we missed out on one or two matches this year) and locking each weeks thread on a Friday.

As regards the points awarded for a match I was thinking of basing it on the team's league division e.g. if a division 4 team played a division 2 team you would get 4 points if the division 4 team won and 2 points if the division 2 team won. Any other suggestions on scoring schemes?

I'd be in favour of basing results on the handicap that Paddy Power are offering....

eg Kerry (-6) vs Limerick (+6)....

It would make each decision far tougher
