'Gooch' has obviously become a household nickname but i am wondering if the members of this forum know of GAA players (club or county) with unusual nicknames.
Aeroplane Shea from back west. Purty Landers Seamus 'Pony' Moynihan Muggsy Mulligan
are a few i can think of.

Not many people use this nick name for Canavan but around these parts he's often referred to as 'Peter Portable' - given his fondness to be constantly on the move.

Seamus 'Pony' Moynihan. Kieran 'Star' Donaghy. Was there a lad hurlin out Abbeydorney direction once, Tank Costello?
My favourite though is Martin 'Gorta' Comerford, the Kilkenny hurler, so called because he always looks like he's after just coming from the famine times.
