Any confirmed mangers. I see mark bourke has left milltown to join the Kerry ladies same with Mike Tim from currow Currow got rid of mike tim half way through the year and were happy enough to get Kieran scanlon training them for the rest of the year It was an odd appointment by Currow appointing him considering how young he is.

Ah he's not that young but still younger than some of there players still playing. I suppose he is a young breed of Coach sometimes it doesn't suit the group. Sometimes I also think them young coaches try to look after the small percentage wins and forget about the majority of training about fitness and getting basics correct but focus on the analysis too much.

I can't understand why clubs can't get a manager from their own club, they might even get better buy in from players. There's too much player power these days hence the high turn over of club managers every year. If players actually analysed it themselves they would realize all the successful teams have their own men in charge.

Lots of advantages to an outside man - no bias or perception of bias or any bad history with lads.

ya some clubs are hearing the same stuff over and over for 10-20 years and they need a change. an outide voice, with fresh ideas etc works well.
its also hard for a lad that was there with a club for 10+ years to gain the respect of lads he played with.

I was thinking he was around that. I think he's also been involved with the Green in recent years. I just think that it was a big risk taking on a club job like that.

Taking out divisional teams bar Stacks in 2014 all the county championship winning clubs have had an " inside" manager. I think it's very hard for clubs to get lads from within to manage teams when someone else comes from outside and is given very good "expenses". Some clubs it seems like it's been years since they haven't had an outside manager.

One negative that can be taken from outside managers or selectors/ trainers is the lack of loyalty. I recall Jerome Stack walking out mid-season on several clubs around the country including Dingle & Na Gaeil in Kerry. You'd Would imagine clubs would be slow try again with outside managers when thats the carry on by some of them

It's such a big commitment by everyone these days though.
