Result: Kilcummin 0-10 Dr. Crokes 1-6 in the first semifinal. Massive for Kilcummin, I would have expected Crokes to still be favourites despite having a largely 2nd string team out. They still had some quality on the pitch. Delighted for Kilcummin, only their 2nd O'Donoghue cup final since 2008 and they haven't won the competition in over 50 years. I was sure Kilcummin were in a few more finals than that. I was surprised to see as well it'd been so long since they won it last.

Only Legion have 1 title apart from the 2 mentioned above in 2019. Spa, Gneeveguilla & Kilcummin runners up a few times also but largely a competition won by either Crokes or Rathmore. Would be great to see a different name on the cup but Rathmore won't be any pushover with them being a well established senior club.

Rathmore would have to be favourites here as a senior club. They had more than enough to cope with Glenflesk. Patrick D'Arcy has been a significant loss for them over the season.
It would be nice to see a Kilcummin breakthrough. Aside from Legion in 2019, it's been a 2 Club roll of honour since Glenflesk last won in 2001.

It's one of the reasons the NK championship generates so much interest. Most of the teams have some sort of a shot at it in any given year. Of the fourteen teams competing, eleven have won it in this millenium. There have been four different winners out of the past five.

Might be stretching it a bit. Would have at least 5 clubs ahead of them. That Crokes 2nd team would have had a lot of players with a lot of experience in the top competitions at Club & Colleges (2nd & 3rd level). Not a Crokes fan by any means but a alot of people would have fancied Crokes. I'm sure Pat O'Shea thought they had a strong chance as well with that line up.
