Not the time for harsh commentary. I saw no lack of effort but as I've said here in the past many times we just lack a bit of quality. As for bashing players I'd have none of that, there the best players we have in the county. I totally agree with this and you're absolutely right. Those who are in denial are ignoring the proven facts and best ignored at this stage.

Yeah, its the Kerry supporters fault….. for the love of god He has a point.I really felt for the Kerry supporters today that tried to drive on our team in extra time but we were drowned out by Armagh supporters. In tight games YES its often the support that drags you over the line. For years we had fans that dont wear colours but thankfully that has changed. We have loads of ex players wont wear colours and we have a "wait for the final brigade"im afraid thats still there.I know its a long trek but I know a fellow Kerryman living in Dublin that did nt go today as he was waiting for final.Thats not a real supporter.Sometimes we are too cocky abd maybe thats why alot of neutrals like to see us lose.KK hurling fans were the same altho their ex players do wear the colours. The blame for that performance doesnt lie with supporters. It shouldnt have been a factor, 4 up at half time. “Safe options” for goal chances? Is that the supporters fault? A train from Armagh to Dublin is ~£20 vs. €80. Its pure nonsense suggesting its more the fans in any way shape or form. It isnt new being outnumbered for games.

Congratulations to Armagh, well done and well deserved!
Against many expectations this was a great game really and very enjoyable, and football was the winner. Anyone claiming to be shocked by this result is either living under a rock or in pure denial about this present Kerry side. Yes, I thought Kerry might win this game because we have David Clifford and had more recent experience at this level, even though the most ardent of Kerry supporters by this stage must know this is a very average team by past standards, with a few good to great players and some very limited players. It is unfair to be so dependent on individuals and expect so much from so few in what is after all a team sport. In truth, most knew it would not be easy against Armagh today, and indeed they proved to be the far better and hungrier team when it mattered and good luck to them now in the final.
For some perspective, many of the present Kerry panel have been around for more than seven seasons, and some even more, and they have lost a lot of big games since 2018/19 and beyond. 2022 is an outlier case in their story, and it could so easily have been Galway that year. For the effort they put in, I am delighted this Kerry team did manage to land one All-Ireland. I wrote earlier this year that Kerry given our present playing resources would do well to grab another All Ireland before this decade is out, and I’m standing by it. For now, at least Kerry remains a very competitive force in with a shot, so it could be worse.
More fresh blood and ideas are needed but there are no guarantees regardless of who manages Kerry in the near future because the actual quality of players available, matched with the necessary athletic power and size remains limited and don't fool yourself. The proof is in the pudding!
In the big picture, the All-Ireland looks like it could be a lot more democratic in the next few seasons and this is no bad thing. This being said, no one should expect Dublin given their resources to be away from the top table for too long either. Finally, thanks to the Kerry team and management for the huge effort made once again this season. Be kind to our players and management they went out to do their best and are volunteers after all. Be gracious, show some class in defeat, and accept the better team won today and congratulations once again to Armagh.
We’ll be back and up the Kingdom!

Kerry were in control of the game and should have done more damage in the first half. From an Armagh pov they were nervy first half and maybe a bit overwhelmed by the occasion. We seen the real Armagh after the goal. For those saying that's an average Armagh team, it's been 3 years since anyone has managed to beat them in 70 minutes of championship football. They've been through some battles and it showed. They might not always get over the line but they don't fade either. They have good depth and serious athletes.
I wouldn't be too critical of the Kerry management. They got a lot right and a different script would have been written if Shane Ryan had held onto that ball. There are fine margins in tight games like this. Kerry just don't get exposed to enough of them.

A few thoughts.
I thought the intensity levels were savage from both teams. Some of the turnovers and hits were as good as I've seen and I very much include Kerry in that. We just had one of those days really. I lamented our lack of composure after the Armagh goal. As a few of you have pointed out, some of our lads getting on the business end of the shot at goal are not natural score getters. I think credit has to be given to Armagh here as well in that regard.
I felt Armagh seemed to get their score that bit easier when it mattered. Some of them scores were top drawer. Big names stood up for them and at the end of the day they deserved to win it. The goal certainly gave them serious oxygen. Kerry, try as they might, just couldn't quite keep a lid on them after.
It seemed to be a bit easier to kick into the Davin end. I was hoping come extra time we would have the first crack at playing into that end. Not to be.
I simply think that this Kerry team is in the pack with a few others.
My overall feeling today walking out of Croke Park is the above. I was soul destroyed after the All Ireland last year which we certainly should have won. Today wasn't quite the same. Perhaps with 5 points up we felt home and hosed. Credit to Armagh they hung in there, got their bit of luck, and showed plenty of stomach for the fight thereafter.

Our lack of composure was evident. We struggled badly for scores after half time and this caught us. I am more accepting of this defeat also than others in recent years. With the team we have, we should not be expecting to win all Ireland’s every year.

Congrats to Armagh - they hit close to their potential today and best wishes in the final. They fully desrrve to be in the final.
While it may have been an exciting spectacle for TV viewers, being at the game, the quality was really really poor at times. I've been going to Croker a long time and for this level of football, this was littered with mistakes - poor decisions and poor execution. And often when players were under little to no pressure. Armagh support was terrific - Kerry support was worse than abject.
Armagh I thought were very limited for 45 minutes - this, to be fair to Armagh, I put down to their lack of experience of such games in Croker. While Kerry were reasonably comfortable they were very sloppy. A number of players kept repeatedly coughing up the ball from early in the game and I couldnt but think of Jim Gavin hooking players with a penchant for same with great haste not so long ago. Not so here unfortunately. I noted this at half time and the malaise worsened thereafter.
I said at the start of the year - after Kerry's final loss - that Kerry's game plan needed to be a lot more nuanced than Clifford shooting the lights out. Sadly the attacking game plan continues to confound and disappoint when the stakes are highest. Right players on the right ball at the right time - we can't seem to effect this with any great regularity.
As happened in the final last year, when the game plan is conservative and keeping opponents at arms length, it is wholly reliant on not making big mistakes leading to goals. As then and as today showed, it lifts the opposition and it deflates the kerry men, whose game plan suddenly goes up in smoke.
Armagh have a particular style of play and to me it looked like we tried to beat them playing their style. They have big units around the middle 8 that ought to be bypassed - instead several of our more vertically and stoutly challenged players saw fit to try and go through them, with dire consequences as we were stripped of ball, over and over again. What is our style? Do we not have one? Why did we think this would work?
The year is over now and another fallow year is the yield. Kerry threw the game away today - being at it, it was that comfortable at times, but lethargy on and off the pitch spread like wildfire.
I will be shocked if the 2024 winners don't come from tomorrows tie.

Was a bit worried during the week when off the ball highlighted Armagh had a better squad, and I agreed but hoped it wouldn't come down to that. I still think our starting 15 was better than there's. My lasting image is of all the Kerry players cramping. One important player was cramping at 65min when I saw that I said to myself we are goosed. Fair play to Armagh for taking us toe to toe you have to admire what good ball players and athletes They are. And serious pace too. Look we have some fans that think we should win every All Ireland and cant understand if someone else thinks a team are as good as Kerry. Also some getting upset cos Paul Flynn tipped Armagh. He was right. We have to be more open minded and realise we are all human and othet counties have footballers as good as ours. You're absolutely right. Flynn was right, and he wasn't the only one abroad that called this, and they knew this Kerry side had a soft underbelly when it's put up to them under the brightest light. Until we beat Dublin in an All Ireland final again most times they'll look down their nose at us and many with good evidence didn't rate this present Kerry side. Still this season Kerry got further than Dublin and played our part in the best game of the season so far. Kerry will be back and I hope to see Kerry finally beat the Dubs in an All Ireland final for the first time since 1985 (far too long ago).

Agree 100% with you and I don't know why it angered some fans so much that he tipped them because it was obvious during the year. It's like god forbid someone tip opposition team, we must take on a siege mentality to help the team and get myself up for it even though I have no impact on proceedings. It annoys me as I was a club player myself for so long and I detested this type of supporter when I was playing.

Ah we should also with our own KD well - part of me thinks in choosing Armagh he was trying to avoid clashing with us, I just like this boy, his innocence, determination, commitment, leadership - his life hasn't been easy but he is a great and he has no bother spreading it around. I know he wasn't so comfortable against us and I am delighted that Armagh are so appreciative of him - I'd say he will be the next Prime Minister up there, he is so universally admired. And that from a buck like me who wasn't always comfortable with management changing colours.

One thing I must note guys is since Jack came in, this has how it has panned out: 2022 - Champions 2023 - Beaten Finalists 2024 - Beaten Semi Finalists
So in any mans language that shows we are going backwards.
I always felt that a lot of this team was built under Peter Keane and Kerry were playing some superb attacking football under Keane without winning All Irelands. Jack added that bit of defensive solidarity when he came in that got us over the line in 2022. But it seems now to me its gone too much down the side of defensive football and it doesn't suit the footballers we have and it seems to be costing us at the end.
So basically what I'm trying to say is..is this team going places with Jack or is it time for a change?
It'd be interesting to hear the opinions on this.

Peter Keane would never have won an all Ireland. Jack will be there in 2025. His term is up then. He is entitled to see it out for all he has achieved but a fresh voice in the back room team might be no harm. Our attack malfunctioned today like in last years final and that needs to be looked at.

Another year of him playing his favourites, not blooding players. We'll see Geaney starting and Clifford playing deep again.

I didn't say Keane would have won All Irelands. My point was he built the team (most of it) while Jack finished it off and added the defensive side of it that Keane failed to add in his time. But has Jack maybe gone down the side of being too defensive? That is my question. We must play to our strengths (which is attacking football). Yes we need a sound defense to go with it but has Jack over compensated with the defensive football.

If Jack has any self awareness he will step aside. He is not the man to do a mini rebuild of this team, he is too stubborn, risk averse and stuck in his ways. We need to find new players and adopt a more positive style.

I think the Ref lost the plot in extra time, mind you for both teams. You cannot expect Clifford to win games without putting the ball into him. Not a lot wrong with hail Mary shots into the square, both goals came off them. Geaney disappointing. Problems with FB, CHB and midfield. I am sure Kerry will rise again.

So many mistakes and bad decisions throughout. 4 points in the second half. 4 points. Unfathomable. Paudie aside our forwards were non existent especially second half. Seanie spent more time in the full back line. We were decent first half. The conditions were perfect so no excuses there, we just had too many underperforming and especially making bad passing and shooting decisions. Armagh better after the break and stronger in extra time. Their pressure assisted greatly our underperformance
We lost midfield with all our long kickouts. Although it’s always easier to see the correct kickout option high in the stand Our previous lack of exposure to top level opponents definitely caught us up today, although I thought Derry would have us sharpened sufficiently for today, maybe not. Tactics in hindsight clearly weren’t helpful but if you individually rate all players ver few come out with credit
All said, they gave it everything they had and we appreciate that effort and sacrifice. More than any of us make, but still we’re so disappointed as we want so much for them to succeed, for them and truthfully and maybe selfishly for ourselves.
We will have another run at it, just the waiting is the problem

In fairness the players tried their best today and fought till the end. Some were poor but cest la vie.We are all entitled to say players played bad or good but respect is important.I dont use facebook much but had a quick look and saddened to see some Kerry supporters questioning David s greatness.David has been a superhero for us and yes he was very poor today but he will come back with a bang. Our style does nt suit him at mo but he will be back stronger as will Kerry.Ciarrai abu! David wasn't poor today. He wasn't given the ball like last year.

Before the match we watched Ireland Rugby team win in South Africa maginificent performance. Courage, tenacity, skill determination. When you compare it really is men against boys. I genuinely think taking inspiration would be positive. I accept they are Professional of course however aiming for those standards be positive. Only seems yesterday these players were going toe to toe with an excellent Dubz. What has happened? A great day for Kieran Donaghy but he must have mixed emotions. Oh to have some forward of his quality to aim for. Kerry have very high standards I know let’s hope they reach again soon. Hope they lose that safe slow dull approach.

I must say as an outsider I really admire Kerry supporters lack of excuses and blaming officials. I was away at a club championship game today so I could only see bits of the Kerry game on my phone, but I saw the last few minutes and a throw in being given from a Kerry kickout which I didn't understand and it led to an Armagh point, then after Kerry levelled it looked like a player was clearly fouled in the last attack around the 20m line which would have been an easy free to win the game. I have to say my thoughts as a Kerry supporter watching were that Gough had screwed Kerry. For balance he did give a throw in during ET for an Armagh kick out which led to a Kerry point but I have to say I'd find it extremely hard to forgive those 2 crucial decisions at the end of normal time. Armagh are the fittest team in the country and ET was always going to favour them. Unfortunately for David, who I admire (he is probably one of the few reasons I continue to watch modern football tbh) he had a poor season by his incredible standards. From what I managed to see in ET Kerry dropping the ball short was a real killer. It's really poor, but to be fair the athleticism required nowadays is remarkable and players are obviously out on their feet. Killian Burke was excellent again and is probably the biggest positive for Kerry this year.

Definitely a bad day today where we managed game well until poor misses at start of second half gave fuel to the Armagh system , then we just became sloppy and gave Armagh encouragement,we moved PK on for a very short term gain , I fear that it may have been a mistake as he had a finger on all age groups going forward, Jack lost a few panelists and seem to give match time to his old reliables

It was a big factor when the game was in the melting pot. I'm glad he referenced it.

Just in the door.
John Kiely spoke post match last Sunday and although obviously disappointed was very gracious in defeat. I think the fact that Limerick did so much right, and actually played well in their semifinal made it easier for him to say that he/they had no regrets, They emptied the tank and lost and that's fine.
I think Kerry players & management will have huge regrets over, our fitness levels, & the massive amount of shots off target etc.
We should have won & I think that's the worsts part

Well done Armagh, totally deserved win. I had a great view of the game today and my points probably reflect other posters.
1. Our legs went, we were shockingly unfit to finish the 70 minutes not to mind ET. Whatever strength & conditioning we did was all wrong. We were looking like a team who have come off a big block of training or have not been fit at all. The cramping was shocking.
2. Our transition play was way too slow, we were screaming to move it faster but it seemed to me fear was setting in.
3. I was afraid our inability to take our goals would catch us, we simply have to hit the target. Tom will regret that for ever. Take that and game is over, shocking miss.
4. I felt Armagh got more decisions than us today. Our discipline was poor at times giving away 2 easy frees in front of goal.
5. I heard Jack calling out Armagh crowd having an impact, really???
6. I thought losing the toss at ET had a big impact, the wind was having a big impact, whoever was leading at half time had a big advantage

Questions definitely have to be asked this one that will hurt a lot because the opportunity was beckoning not just because Dublin because looked liked kerry controlled the game and couldn't finish in front goal missed easy goal chances. Then went back to into their shell and invited Armagh onto them.
Also seems David form and confidence has gone only human I get that maybe it will come back who knows Oshea again went missing when game is in melting pot apart good first half.
Paudie was decent as was brian and tom.
Questions asked over the approach by management ?
Maybe Kerry reflect on all these because they will not be guaranteed to challenge every year playing as sluggish as they did this year. They were waiting to beat as tommy carr said during the week and he was correct.
Great lover of kerry football but are these expected to achieve too much co sideline mentality faulted in biggest state more often than nit recently.
Too many overrated players or what's issue poor planning fitness wise when peak? Expecting big game from whyte too but virtually non existent again.
That said Armagh looked to win the game and never gave up they were hungrier and first to evey ball from 45th minute on.
